Jedi Academy Special Moves Script
Ahem. No warez here, move along. If you don't have the beta, d/l this and sit on it till you get the game.
I made a script that reproduces all of the special moves I know of. It uses two main special moves buttons, a third one for some extra moves, two more for the left and right spinner moves, and then three buttons to control which saber type / stance you are in. Please tell me if there are more specials you know of. There are a couple minor problems, but I don't know if they are my fault or not. With the saber staff, when I retract half of it I can't get it to throw in multiplayer. I have my throw at lev3, but it doesn't do it. This is with the script, and just regular in multiplayer. Are you not supposed to be able to throw with the half extended saberstaff? It works in single player. Also, when you unextend one side of the dual sabers or saber staff, I can't get the moves to work for the blue (dual saber) or yellow (saber staff) stances. The only one that seems to work is the uppercut for the unextended dual saber (blue stance). Is it supposed to be like that? Well, enough of that, get the thing here: http://rawkuts.ftphost.net:1201/Raw-Kuts.rar Download that extract it in your \JediAcademyDir\GameData\base\ directory Now open up one of the .cfg files in a text editor (Raw-Kuts-sp.cfg for singleplayer and Raw-Kuts-mp.cfg for multiplayer) and you will NEED to change the keys. The default keys are basically useless, I just put them there because I was too lazy to see which keys I was using. The most useful special buttons are Special 1 and Special 2, 3, Left, and Right aren't that great, but they come in handy sometimes. I would reccomed changing the change stance key to whatever you have your change stance key in the game. I commented the thing decently, but I didn't label what all the specials are. I don't know their names so if someone wants to do that I would appreciate it. When you get into the game, press SHIFT + ~ to get the console down and type in this: "exec Raw-Kuts.cfg" If it comes up with th message "Configured for: Single Saber - Yellow Stance" then you are good to go, if not, type that same thing in again and it should work. Here is a general idea of what the buttons do. For Single Saber: Special 1 - uppercut (blue), twirly birld (yellow), overhead smash (red) Special 2 - Does the special for the previous stance (if you are in blue, you will do the red special) Special 3 - Does the special for the next stance Special L - Does the spinny thing to the left (each stance has it's own) Special R - Does the spinny thing to the right (each stance has it's own) For Dual Sabers (both out): Special 1 - Spinny forward thingy Special 2 - Blue Saber special (uppercut) Special 3 - You crouch down and spin the sabers around you for a bit Special L - Does spinny move to the left Special R - Does spinny move to the right For Dual Sabes (one retracted): Special 1 - blue saber special (uppercut) Special 2 - Takes out both sabers, and wildly attacks the air in front of you Special 3 - Take out both sabers, does the other special 3 Special L - Take out both sabers, and do the spinny to the left Special R - Take out both sabers and do the spinny to the right For Saber Staff (extended): Special 1 - Spinny attack forward thing Special 2 - Does a high back flip and spins the saber underneath (Throws saber in single player) Special 3 - Does that super fast spin multiple times around (makes the saber trail long) thing Special L - does the spinny move to the left Special R - Does the spinny move to the right For Saber Staff (half retracted): All of them just extend the saber, and do the same specials as the fuly extended saber. The only thing the unextended saber was good for was throwing, but it doesn't seem to work. In single player special2 retrieves the saber from a throw.

I guess the game is pretty good if you're scripting stuff already. Any idea on the release date? The moves sound pretty good, but you should put some flashier stuff in, more spinny-saber stuff. Just to please us masses.

Those are just the built in moves, not stuff I made up. I never thought of putting in custom combos. With these, the script executes the move much cleaner than you could yourself, and you have control of your character immediately after the move starts. Custom combos would be a bit clunky, and not that useful anyways.
EDIT: Oh I get it, you were joking cause I called most every move "spinny" something. Well, that is what they are, I mean what else are you going to do with a saber, spin it in different ways. That went right over my head 'till now I was a big fan of the JK2 multiplayer, and I did something similar with that (much less involved, only 3 specials, none of the stance/saber changing stuff). I'll take some screen shots of the moves and put 'em up for those of you that don't have it yet. The Lucas Arts page says the release date is Fall 2003. Give me an hour or so and I'll take some screenshots of the moves.

Screenshots
Here are the pics as promised, but I didn't take them of all the moves, I got lazy and only did some of them. I didn't compress them all that much, so dial-up beware. And after doing half of them I realized they didn't look all that good inside in the dark so I moved outside.
Random Acrobatics Dual Saber Forward Special Dual Saber Right Move Special Dual Saber Super Spinny Special Single Saber Left Move Special Single Saber Red Overhead Smash Saber Staff Forward Bounce Twist Special Saber Staff Right Move Special Saber Staff Super Spinny Special Don't worry about the fps, it has nothing to do with the script. It was just down a lot because I was taking screenshots one after the other.

That week and the next are going to be wallet(or bandwidth, if you're a pirate) drainers for PC gamers. JK3, HL2, Halo, Counterstrike: Condition Zero, and Homeworld 2 are all released in those two weeks. Not to mention some of the console games that are gonna be released then... ![]() |

Press the use button on the droid a few times and after you talk a bit the droid should go forward and open up a hatch in front of it. Then you just have to kill some more tusken raiders and that's the end of the level.

If you mosey on down to the people who love to cook with files to make a delicous soup then you might see it in the general community..... ahem.
Anyways, I updated the script a bit and made some changes so there is a seperate single player version and multiplayer version. In the singleplayer version you can throw the unextended saber staff (you can't in multiplayer). Also, I had to split the file up because you would get an error when trying to run a script that is too big (in singleplayer), so there are 3 files that are common to the sp and mp scripts, and then 2 files that let you have different keys for mp and sp. http://rawkuts.ftphost.net:1201/Raw-Kuts.rar

Well, in the quote it looses all meaning. Because I was trying to make a BOLD statement. Here at the tilted forum a statement like this might get you thrown into the projects. But that would be alright if you like an organization... if you get my drift
