i've been playing play chips on an online poker site for a month or 2 now and i just put down a deposit to enter tourneys and play penny ante for kicks.... and i'm torn between the rush of playin and feeling like i just poured some money down a black hole... how bout y'all? anybody else been sucked in and maybe won or lost big? any interesting stories why this is the best damn thing since jarjar binks or the best black hole for gullible marks since milli vanilli?

I haven't tried online poker with real money but my friends and I always get together to play hold-em poker for cash. I do, however, play online poker, but only with fake money. I try my hardest to play like I would in real life though. So no real true-life stories for you.

I just started playing True Poker after seeing it advertised on the travel channel during a break from the world poker tour. One can learn a lot from watching those people play.

I must say, it is an absolute *joy* and I've really been doing well with True Poker. I highly recommend it as it has an interface with avatars that make you feel like you're really playing virtual poker. I've made about $4K since starting - it has both real and play money options but I don't have the capital to play real.

I assume that this would require you giving out a credit card number, which I wouldn't dare to. (Even if the poker dudes don't screw you over, who knows how secure their storage is?)
