"Adventure" games for the PS2 - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

My wifes favorite games of all time were the old NES and SNES/Game Boy Zelda games. Now that we have a PS2 she would like to get something like that. Any suggestions?? All I see in the rental stores are terrible movie tie-in games (sorry but I hated the LOTR movie game...)

And why isn't the PS2 a progressive scan machine? Next Gen console my ass...

yeah, i think I will try onimusha...and I haven't played a final fantasy game since the NES, so I figgr I am due!!

Although It lacks Hack and Slash, "Escape from Monkey Island" is a pure adventure game (as it is orginally defined). One of my favorite series

Onimusha kind of sucks. The controls are wierd, the story is wierd, and it's hard.

As for the PS2, I always suggest Suikoden III, awesome game, great story. That may not be what you're looking for but it just has to be said =).

Old NES/SNES Zelda like games for the PS2, that's kind of hard. Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance comes to mind when I think of Zelda and the PS2. Course BG

A is sans all the neat puzzle dungeons, it's the best I can come up with for comparison though.
