the idea w/ go, as far as i can tell, is to lay your chips in such a way as to surround the other guy's. if you completely surround the other color's chips, you get to take them off the board. i think. it's hard, though. lots of thinking.

i play I-go. I used to play online with Yahoo games, but now i just play on GBA and on my computer. One of my buddies is making a Go board from scratch , and another one has some really nice marble stones. Go is fun, but i can only get down to 13 Kyu consistantly.
To play Go, it's kind of like what cheers said, but you want to occupy the most territory on a board while using the least amount of soldiers (pieces).You cannot sacrifice or suicide a soldier on purpose. It's not about surrounding your opponent, it's about controlling the board. Here (http://playgo.to/interactive) is a website to check out for more info.
