For $20, this game is worth it. It is a single player only Diablo rehash. If you enjoyed Diablo, you'll appreciate the improvements that are made. The graphics are clean and cartoon-y, the itemization is familiar to modern RPGers, but with enough added complexity to make it interesting to learn. Also, even though you only choose from 3 different classes, the skills you choose for each class can dramatically change the way you play.
So far, I've only tried out 2 characters. My Alchemist is configured to work like a Necromancer from Diablo 2. Though, I feel like my approach early in the game (didn't know what I wanted to do) left me too spread out to be effective at higher levels (playing on hard mode). My Destroyer, on the other hand, tears through everything he touches because I maxed out a couple effective skills rather than going for utility. The only drawback is that I have gone almost 20 levels without finding an upgrade to some items, leaving me effective offensively, but vulnerable defensively. This game improves upon Diablo in many ways. First, the pet system is great - you can equip your pet with a few items and spells, and even turn them into things to help you fight. If they get "killed" they actually just run around aimlessly until they regenerate enough health to rejoin the fight. Then, you can send them back into town to sell your inventory if you can live without them for 2 minutes, maximizing the amount of time you spend in the action. There are many side dungeons and bonus levels, and your "fame" rating allows you to improve your character at more frequent intervals. The art is great, too. I only takes up something like 850mb, so go for it if you're thinking about it.

I totally agree. I really just wish they had SOME form of multiplayer.

I'm probably just going to keep typing until I run out of things to babble about and see how many people actually read this. I once ran down a hill, fell down and hurt my elbow; my mom said I would be ok, she kissed it and made it all better. I've run out of things to say now, so if you have read this whole thing, congratulations you get a gold star! |

I think they are planning on adding it in the future. Supposed to end up being a shard based MMO I think. Me and my buddies back in college played coop Diablo 2 all the time, if it ends up being as smooth as that then I'll have to look into getting my kill-and-loot on again.

I will buy this game the day they release a Multi-Player patch. I played the 2 hour demo and it was fun. I liked the enchanting thing that just allowed you to upgrade items over and over with an ever-growing risk of destroying the item. Obviously I didn't get much done in 2 hours, I felt the game was a little dark. After playing Diablo 2 and Titan Quest which have great outdoor environments I just don't want my dungeon crawlers to actually be in dungeons anymore. Again, I put a little over an hour into 1 character so I didn't get far and that might change. I dunno.
Anyway, I think co-op would make what I experienced in the game 10x better. There's nothing worse than being given gear that you can never use, and nothing better than having a cool item to give(ahem.. sell) to a friend.

Downloaded the demo and I've been playing for about 4 hours and haven't been locked out yet...
Great game, loving it!!

Great fun, simple game, good price.
What I really like so far though, is that the toolkit is available allowing you to create your own weapons, your own spells, your own classes. I hope they get enough fans & funds rounded up to eventually release that MMO they keep talking about. My vanquisher's only lvl 22, but as a marksman, she seems to never use up any mana or health. I can't even count the stacks of pots that I've simply sold off

Tried the demo the other night and I liked it. I was going to pick it up for $4.99 on Saturday but I missed the deal. :[ It's currently on sale on Steam for $9.99. I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for $1.99 (what a steal!) the other day and I ended up getting Trine last night over this for $7.99. I'll probably get this at the end of the week if it's still on sale though. If it had multiplayer I think I'd be more enticed to buy it sooner.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. + the Complete 2009 mod = awesome.

I downloaded the demo cause it sounded like something I would really enjoy. Sadly my computer couldn't handle it, it's getting pretty outdated. :/ Glad to see that others are liking the game, I'll try to remember it for when I eventually get upgraded!

So is this pretty much Mythos with prettified graphics? I remember playing that a lot about a year ago, then it shut down quite unexpectedly.
If this is even close to that game then it should be worth the money. Mythos was perpetually in open beta for quite awhile, but $20.00 should still be a bargain. |

I don't know if I got lucky or what, but I downloaded the "demo" and still haven't hit the 2 hour cap... I've finished the game with 2 characters now. Weird.

Downloading the demo now. I remember hearing about this, but I never tried it out. I loved Diablo and Diablo 2 and Dungeon Siege II (and dungeon crawlers in general), so I'm hoping to like it.

Got it for $4.99 the last day of the Steam sales. My Vanquisher owns. I'm playing on Hard, and it doesn't seem too difficult yet.

Aww man, if I had known about those sales, I would've gotten the game sooner. My buddy hooked me up with a copy today, though. Pretty fun game so far. How long is this game? I think I read that the max level was 100, but I feel like it's going to end a lot sooner than that.

Why 2 guns? Your toon fires the pistols alternately, not at the same time, so you're not exactly doubling your damage. Is it for the stats of the 2nd pistol? I found pistol and shield the best combo.
