Quake Wars for PC. Since I'm running Linux, there isn't a whole lot of native games to choose from, and I'm not a big fan of playing games in wine.
Love this game though. Quite old I suppose, but still kicks ass. 9/10

(XBLA) 9/10 Absolutely amazing XBLA game and for only like 15$ they did a great job. It doesn't get a 10 because there are some clipping issues and problems with targeting beyond the 2D playing field. Otherwise the story is fun and the gameplay is great.

Warhammer 40000. Dawn of War II
9.5/10 I picked it up during the steam 50% off sale. All I can say is wow. The graphics are immense, with explosions and intense action constantly. The squad control system is easy to get used to and the variety of units was great. The story is not much, typical strategy fair, but it didn't matter as the gameplay had me hooked from start to finish. The itemisation and ability to customise your squad was well done and you can feel that it really affects the game. The only real problem now is I'm not sure if I can go back to the more standard strategy games.

I'm playing Starcraft. I'm just going through the campaign again getting caught up for the sequel. It's still one of the most well balanced Strategy games out there. No other RTS game offers as much variety in the different factions with nearly as much balance. 9/10

Xbox360 8/10 It's just so frickin' BIG it's hard to remember all the quickest routes to each destination. Fortunately, they have lots of built-in ways to help you navigate the streets and roads. Also, tons of cars to win and drive, each one handling a bit differently, as you would expect in real life. |

Batman: Arkham Asylum
It's a good game, I liked it a lot. The level design is great, combat system is simple, yet challenging, and the stealth moments are very well done. What really makes the game is the voice talent from Batman: The Animated Series, including Kevin Conroy as batman, and especially Mark Hamill as the Joker. I used to watch the show when I was a kid; it was excellent. It had a gritty, dark side that wasn't in other superhero animated series. The challenge mode is a welcome addition: there's either stealth challenges, where your goal is to remain hidden from armed foes and take them out quietly, in creative ways, and the combat maps. Stringing together combos becomes really challenging because of the different types of enemies. So if you're wondering what it feels like to glide down from above, kick a dude in the back and then take him down, and disappear again before his buddies get there, get this game. It's great.

I had Prototype along side Batman from Gamefly (2 game plan) and it was fun as hell but it's way too drawn out and it seems the closer you are to the end the harder it gets. I was watching my friend play and he was doing more running away than fighting because there was just a ridiculous amount of helicopters, tanks, super soldiers and soldiers with rocket launchers going berserk on him. I give it a 7.

I am currently playing Uncharted 2 and it's a 11/10.
This is quite possibly the funnest game I've played in years. It is truly an adventure to play it. First, it looks beautiful. It's debatable but it gets my vote for best environment and atmosphere. The attention to detail is amazing. It also happens to be the first game I played that's pulled off a train level to my liking. The story is great, the action is fun, the puzzles are cool although none of them are that hard to figure out. Yes, I gave the game an 11/10. It's that damn fun.

We should list the platform we play the game on.
ArmA2 (PC) 9/10 Been playing the game non-stop since it came out in June. Although, I don't know if the countless hours spent editing count. It's more of a simulator than a game, but don't think dry. The scope of the game is amazing and it great for co-op with friends. It has a bad rep for bugginess, but the amount of noticeable bugs is down with the version 1.04, however performance is an on-going issue. I recommend checking out the countless homemade youtube videos for the game. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (PC) 3/10 Dull shooter, couldn't decide if it was tactical or action. Promised us amazing game elements but has a lot of weak points. The fact is that being a console port makes for some annoying game controls and interface. Has some cool weapon features, but the ballistics are all wrong. |

Just picked up the new remake of the God of War games on the PS3, beat the first one.
God of War (PS3) - The first 3/4ths of the game gets a 9.5/10. Really fun to play, some of the enemies are pretty tough, the puzzles are also alright to do for the most part. Last quarter of the game gets a 3/10. The puzzles (which is what most of it was) are just retardedly annoying. The kind of puzzles where you die constantly and have to restart at checkpoints. Almost ruined the entire game and made me just put it down, yes, it was that bad. I hope there is nothing retarded like that in God of War II. |

Final Fantasy XIII 9/10
Ya know, This is one game where I could go on and on about what I don't like about it but in the end, I played it for 50+ hours in under a week and I had a lot of fun, challenging moments. Going to play God of War 3 this week if I feel like touching a controller. I'm curious to see how it compares...

pixeljunk: Shooter
Fantastic PSN game by the makers of Eden. Shooter is set in an underworld set of caves where you are sent to rescue your team. The major twist that sets it apart from other similar 2d arcade shooter is that there is a nice "physic/liquid" technology in the game. Let me explain: since you're underground, there is lava And there is also puddles of water. If you shoot a hole and get water on lava, it will cool it down. See more in the following video. What I found is the game is challenging enough at 1st to keep it fun but it gets more and more challenging as the levels progress with the introductions of better enemies(magnetic dudes, lava shooter, Super bosses). So if you have a playstation 3, then please try it out!! 9.99$ is a steal! I rate this game: 9.5/10 not perfect because I would have liked a melee combat for multi-player. but co-op is really what Pixeljunk aims for.

I was at a friend's house on the weekend for a dinner party. After much food and wine, we all repaired to the sitting room where we engaged the PS3 and a 50 inch flat screen in a series of friendly contests.
I have now found the reason for purchasing a PS3. The game is called Pain. I rate this at an 8/10 for sheer fun. Can this not be played on the Wii???? Seems to me it would be a perfect Wii game.

I've had Pain for a couple years now. Fun game, but gets repetitive...
God Of War 3 - OH MY GOD!!!/10 Totally worth the wait and the price! Play it however you can. It only took me about 9 hours to beat it on God Mode (normal), but there are plenty of items I picked up in the first run through to play it at least once more.

God of War 3 8/10
I'm in the minority on this one but I couldn't really get into this one. I admit the game does look good and it is brutal in places. I don't know if it's any better looking than FF13 or Uncharted 2 because there are few environments that are similar. I will say that many of the character models in GOW are pretty weak. Hera for example has very few polygons and Zeus's hair looks retarded. The boobs were perfectly modeled though. I also didn't really like Kratos this time around. There's just no reason to like him other than his getting screwed over in GOW1 and 2. In GOW3, there's nothing, just bloodlust. Maybe this was intentional and the reason they show some of the death scenes from that person's POV instead of from Kratos'. I had some issues with the controls too. Double jump was very picky about timing. I died more because Kratos failed to double jump than I did from bosses. Switching directions while quickly climbing was also problematic in that you'd jump vertical a few times then you want to jump sideways to dodge a falling rock and he'd continue to jump vertical into the rock. That said, Difficulty of the game varied a ton. Bosses were sadly the easiest part of the game. Junk Mobs provide the biggest difficulty in Normal and Hard difficulty. It's not that you can't dodge and parry most of their attacks, It's just that they do so much damage, and they live for SO long that I'd get impatient and do something risky and get killed. What I did like is the selection of weapons. All of the weapons are really fun to use. I really favored the gauntlets more than anything but all the blade on chains weapons were cool in their own ways. Puzzles were well done. I like how they integrated mechanics of other games into the puzzles. It's nice to see the mechanics of a simple but fun puzzle game like (spoiler) being integrated into a bigger game with a story. That's all I have for now.

GoW3 easily a SOLID 9/10
I just bought Mushroom Wars off the PSN for shits and giggles and found it to be somewhat entertaining, 6.5/10 for the addicting factor of wanting to smash the shit out of the enemy and overwhelm them with 500+ to their small hideout of 80. Got boring fast though.

I give it a 9/10 This game gives me a freaking headache! It is hard and it reminds me of a maze/puzzle in real life. AND they give you weird warnings even to make it easier, and it IS NOT! One level took me almost two hours! I died about 10 times or so. Anyone want a big challenge? Try it. |

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (PS3)
Quick rating: 9.5 out of 10 stars.
I have been playing this game since release day. Still have not finished it, but getting closer. There are so many things to do in this game, it's unreal. Main Story: It is a continuation of the first two games. While not perfectly representing history, it does use real names and places to tell a story that is very compelling and "conspiracy theory"-esque. No doubt it's fictionalized, but they blend it with historical events to make a fantastic blend of both. Gameplay: Not very different from AC2, but light years better than the first AC. Two of the biggest things added to this version from AC2 would be the ability to initiate kill streaks and the crossbow. Combat goes much faster with kill streaks. Once you are able to kill one enemy, with little effort, you can move to the next opponent and kill them instantly. Kill enough in a row and the remaining guards with weaker morale tend to run away. Another great addition: the parachute. Thank you, Mr. DaVinci! Multi-Player: Haven't played this beyond the original introduction. Seems like the concept works though. There's deathmatch (called "Wanted") where you are the hunter and the hunted at the same time. I plan on trying this out once I finish the single-player portion. Can't wait until AC3 comes out, although I have not heard any dates or info on when it would be released. |

WoW.
1-60 has improved a lot, though the new talent system annoys me somewhat (for leveling, once you max it doesn't matter). But all the neat terrain and quest changes are quite cool. And that's not even including the 80+ content. 8.5/10 Its very good. Now if only they'd have better roleplay. |
