My quest for a Wii turned up that "unfortunately, there is not supposed to be another shipment until after christmas, maybe even into the new year. if you are interested though, there are 100 ps3s arriving for friday in our store."
At least in Edmonton, Alberta, there will be over 500 ps3s available on the 22nd. (Significant because the province, with a wealthy population of 3 million, is often underestimated in our consumer ability. Thus far, we have received disproportionately small amounts of wiis, ps3s, etc. They have been sold out since launch. There was while a couple years ago that you couldn't buy a lcd tv while the rest of north america could. I had a boss that had to buy a new Land Cruiser from Vancouver and drive it home for lack of timely Edmonton availability) Last edited by Bossnass; 12-18-2006 at 10:47 AM.. |

Those new land cruisers are quite popular, they've been selling way above sticker price.
And yes, with our huge young population with a lot of disposable income from the boom our province buys a lot of stuff. I preordered my wii way back in june and i'm thankful i did because i can't even find controllers for the thing now.

Wow...Gamestop said the order wouldn't ship until 12/31, but I got it just 4 days after I ordered it! I can't believe it I finally got one...and with no waiting in line.
I don't mind paying a little extra in this case...since the extra money goes to content, instead of somebody's eBay profit. Thanks again for the tip, I'm so happy right now! |

Dont get me wrong...if I had the spare change, and the time to sit in line I would have probably bought a PS3 as soon as it came out but I have always been in the mind that its better to wait about a year to buy a new console...the price may or may not come down but kinks etc will be worked out of the system...look at the 360 launch...they had to replace a ton because they overheated and fried out the guts of the console...
of course that can be blamed on 14 year olds sitting in their basement for 30 hours strait playing halo |
