In somewhat the same vein, I need to re-watch this film: The Devil's Miner
...because I found it already in-progress midway through (around 20 months ago). Real story that is just as relevant and poignant as the one above. Instead of a synopsis portrayed in words, here is the trailer to the [doc] (-umentary). (click the pic, as usual) picture_above_neu.jpg

As an aside: ring--had you located that [doc] I shifted you towards earlier this year?
About the horses interacting with interned prisoners as a means of rehabiliation for both the animal's care and the human's being? I couldn't locate it the first go-around (even though I looked for not even 300 seconds), but this time around, I decided to see if I could accomplish an unearthal. Here it is (via blog: greys and things): Greys & Things: Homestretch on PBS ---------- Post added at 03:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:13 PM ---------- p.s. the woman who authored the blog; she apparently watched it the same showing as I (in early May); PBS has a weird rotating schedule, and it replays certain [docs] years after its original debut. I believe this DVD was shot in 2006, completed in 2007, and debuted within the same calendar year. I'll recommend it again (for the first time here).

I guess this is the movie recommendation's page, as just last night (Wed.), I watched Insomnia. (the Americanized version, w/ Al Pacino and Hilary Swank).
I didn't think it was that good, more confusing on the onset of it. Then I re-watched again last night, and the thing that irked me (in a good way) is how many actors in the film I've seen before (thouh cannot recall from where) and the level of great acting (so much so that it detracts from the film's story because the acting is too good). Then, I watched the special features on the DVD, and I was distraught to learn that it was a remake of a foreign (Norweigan) film, starring http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellan_Skarsgård (Swedish actor extraordinaire). Here's the link from where I (will eventually) watch the 1997 original film. Hopefully it's subbed. Watch Full Movies, Tv-Shows, Anime, Documentaries, Cartoon Online Stream Downloads For Free feel free to me if it's a good one.

I agree with your take on Insommia.
I felt that Pacino's acting ability, (in particular) far overshadowed the plot. If you're interested, check out one of Al Pacinos very early films - Panic In Needle Park. 1971, I believe. Last edited by ring; 12-04-2009 at 12:43 PM.. |

random internet opinion that includes a good zinger:
Oh, and while I’m on the subject, I’d like to put down in writing my F You to the ballyhooed Miraculous Bra. Oh, it increases your chest by two cup sizes? You know what that’s called, ladies? LYING. I guess I’ll just shove this cucumber down my pants and expect you to not be disappointed when we get naked.

A funny guy I worked with one summer was Angel, a Puerto Rican guy. He used to roll up the morning newspaper and then tie a string to one end, then shove it down his pants with the string hanging out. Then he'd go hang around the women and pull the sting to make it move. They giggled a lot and I think half of them thought he was extremely well endowed.
