I just happen to be looking at this thread because I'm taking a break from studying for a Materials test on Thursday. Silver isn't magnetic, agreed. Common misconception that stainless steels aren't. Austinite, a phase of Fe, isn't very magnetic and any 300 series steels (304, 316, etc) should be mostly austinitic. However, the non-magnetisim is usually lost during tooling or cold-working. Also, there are a couple 2xx series stainless and a number of 4xx series stainless that aren't austinitic and are magnetic.

Point of fact, a lot of silver jewelry is a ferroalloy. And most small items, such as those that would go in your face, even if they were high grade 316 surgical, they were probably stamped or rolled into shape. All said, not a problem with a fridge magnet, but a huge problem in a MRI.
