I go to Starbucks for a tall espresso if I really need a wakeup call. But that is the only thing that they have got that is worth drinking.
I go to Timmy's for a Large coffee with a single sugar- I havent bought a muffin or donut or cookie since they changed them all. The only place for good, cheap coffee. :)
Has anyone ever heard of Williams? Im not exactly sure how many stores there are. Ive only seen about 3 in Southwestern Ont. (2 in my city.) But Williams has become my new Timmy's. Seriously, their coffee might be more expensive, but tastes SO much better! Its atmosphere is amazing, great get together spot. They also have good food.

Williams is alright. I find their coffee kind of oily tho...
As far as locations I know of atleast 4 in Kitchener/Waterloo, and one here in Guelph.

godzilla23 11-22-2004 09:34 PM

XL double cream

... maybe a honey dip donut too, if I'm in the mood.

and the new red pepper and chicken sandwich is amazing.

Yeah there is one over in Collingwood (or is that a Timothy's?), but I prefer Second Cup to Starbucks. There is one in Orangeville that we stop at everytime on the way to Toronto. The crew are so much less snobby than at Starbucks

bookiebye 12-02-2004 04:52 AM

large single milk/triple sugar and maybe a muffin, depending on if I had time to eat before I leave the house in the morning.

For those of you who missed it, about six months ago Tim Horton's announced that as a cost saving measure they would be "near-cooking" their donuts in Ontario, freezing them, and then essentially microwaving them in-store..

I haven't been back since. My morning start's at Robin's now.. but, uh, to answer the question, lotsa sugar, and a little cream..

i DID miss that! I remember when I was younger and my cousin brought home the extra donuts from the store and everyone got to eat em with coffee and hot chocolate :) yummy!

that just plain sucks.

Hey guys?
The States has Tim Horton's!!!
I know, I was also shocked, but they have them all over Ohio and West Virginia!
Weird, eh?

CandleInTheDark 01-30-2005 07:13 PM

I have never ordered more than a donut at Tims...

So which comes first in your nomenclature, cream or sugar?

They're getting to be quite common in western New York...Rochester is one of their "target areas", so I'm sure Starbucks is quivering.

Medium double-double, one apple fritter. Keeps me going all the way down the 401 from Toronto to the Thousand Islands border crossing.

IC3 01-30-2005 11:45 PM

Milk with chocolate.

Janey 02-10-2005 12:14 PM

I'm actually going to start frequenting Coffee Time. They are 100% local (founded in Beaverton i believe and still locally owned). I t may be heresy, but their coffee tastes the same, and thier doughnuts are actually bigger. Ever since Wendy's bought out Timmies, they've overly corporatized. Now their apple fritters are tiny, just as small as their now smaller doughnuts.

So it's Coffee Time for me. No really, it's coffee time. Now. I've going for coffee.

Yeah, the Tims I go to won't recognize that. Fucking Kids-in-the-Hall skit ensues:

"I'll have an Extra Large Regular please..."
"Okay, that's One Extra Large and one regular coffee... do you want cream or sugar in those?"
"NO.... ONE COFEE, XL, with one cream and one sugar."
"Okay, what do you want in the regular coffee?"
"NO... no regular 'sized' coffee, just the XL, regular..."
"Sir, I'm going to get the manager."

m0rpheus 02-24-2005 05:52 AM

Jesus fucking Christ, I just got my earnings statement for my income tax and I started looking into where the hell all of my money goes. I just realized that I spend minimum $565.75 on coffee at Tims per year, that's one XL per day and realistically I probably drink more than that...

Damn!

You and I both know somebody in the very same boat ;)

(I really shouldn't talk, when I get coffee it's the $4 or more dealies, so it tends to add up)

Sticky 03-22-2005 10:20 AM

My personal favorite for this was one night on my lunch hour I did a Tims run for myself and two co-workers. My order was as follows

1 XL Black
1 XL 2 creams
1 XL 2 sugars

Now I could understand if the girl took that as 1 black and 1 double double, but she replies "so thats a medium regular" and I stand in shock for a second because a) she got the size wrong, b) there was no regular in there, and c) she somehow combined 3 coffees into 1 getting absolutely nothing right whatsoever... sigh their hiring policies really have gone downhill in the last 5 years or so...
