How do you take your Tims?

What could be more Canadian than starting the day at Tim Hortons?
So whats your morning Tims?

Mines XL Black and Bagel (blueberry) toasted with butter.

Antikarma 09-01-2004 05:28 AM

Black large coffee, apple fritter.

Start me up, baby.

silent_jay 09-01-2004 07:34 AM

Large Black, and a toasted Everything Bagel, I think I feel a craving

Church 09-01-2004 08:09 AM

XL Cafe Mocha with a maple glazed. mmmmm :)

Zephyr66 09-01-2004 09:18 AM

XL Double Double and one of those groundbreaking toffee donuts

Daval 09-01-2004 09:55 AM

XL Double-Double

and on days when I don't have time for breakfast at home, i'll get a toasted sesame seed bagel with butter, chedar-cheese, and tomato - sprinkled with salt and pepper.

I don't like the toffee donuts, taste too rich like the krispy kreme ones

skier 09-01-2004 10:27 AM

Don't go to Timmies in the morning, but when I get a craving I have to get my fix of Iced Cap.

fallenangel 09-01-2004 10:36 AM

Skiier -> Totally agree, nothin is more summery to me than an Iced Cap from Timmies!!! *drool* However, I do get Mocha's in the wintertime if i'm there, aaaand maybe a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Damnit i'm hungry right now :(

Averett 09-01-2004 10:49 AM

Hmm... I thought this was about my boyfriend.

I didn't realize they had mocha's and such. Are they on par with Starbucks, or more along the lines of something you'd find at your local gas station?

flamingpeach 09-01-2004 11:18 AM

My favorite's always been a medium double double with a whole wheat and honey bagel, toasted with butter.

fallenangel 09-01-2004 11:46 AM

Averett -> They're somewhere in between lol.

skier 09-01-2004 04:26 PM

averett, tims is a donut shop- kinda like any fast food place, but they don't sell as much food. It started out just coffee and pasteries (donuts at first) then expanded their menu to include sammiches and soup n other desserts.

It's nummy! I like their coffee more than starbucks, it's less "gritty".

Bossnass 09-01-2004 04:49 PM

First off, I live less then a block away from a Tim Hortons.
Second, I am a full time student and work a full time job.
Lack of sleep and close proximity mean a few of the Tim's girls know me by name.

XL, single sugar.

Yeah I know, I've been there ;) Was there this past Sunday actually..

I've had a donut there, not too impressed. Then again it was around midnight... Had soup there once, very tasty :D

highthief 09-02-2004 01:44 AM

Black, double sugar.

Starbucks tastes like a combination of engine oil and tar, IMO.

ILW8UP 09-02-2004 07:41 AM

half and half

Mine is half black half french vanilla............

neddy65 09-02-2004 09:11 AM

large with milk and almost never a donut
at one time i had one across the street and averaged 8 lg per day
I tended towards jittery then!!

canuckguy 09-02-2004 02:40 PM

i'm a rebel, lgr, double-double, with a canadian maple.

vbuser 09-02-2004 03:46 PM

Wow, alot of regulars here.

Anyone outraged from the recent Tea upcharge?

Anywho, I'm usually a Med. Ice Capp during school.

matteo101 09-02-2004 05:10 PM

When I go to Timmies I get a XL english toffee(I know its a pussy drink), with a toasted everything bagel and cream cheese and soup.
Or a medium double double

canuckguy 09-03-2004 02:32 PM

lol, first time I heard my wife swear in months! she was peaking over that one!

Kingpin_in_OT 09-03-2004 02:36 PM

As for me, a large regular one and one, with a cin and raisin bagel. I get a surprise when they mix up the lids and I get my friends large 3 cream and 2 sugar. I think they manage to get some coffee in there!

tiltedbc 09-03-2004 06:06 PM

XL double-double. I have not tried the new TOFFEE donuts, but I hear they're annoying.

("toffee" is a TV commercial about a guy who gets named after a donut by mistake. Yeah, this could only happen in Canada.)

HugAPug 09-05-2004 02:43 PM

large triple-triple
and a plain bagel with light cream cheese.

Mr. Munchy 09-06-2004 03:17 AM

Coconut and peanut-covered non-frozen-and-shipped-in-from-Ontario-doughnuts. Oh wait, that was before, when Tim's had good doughnuts (they cut a bunch to make them more "lunch-restaurant"-y intstead of "doughnut shop"-y) and made them fresh every day.

Okay, fine, and the occasional Iced Capp made with chocolate milk.

Sorry about the bitter nature of my post.

Jam 09-06-2004 05:42 AM

jeez you people are making me feel uncanadian, I dont have any canadian tire money, and I dont eat or drink tim hortons

fallenangel 09-06-2004 11:09 AM

What? That's it, consider yourself kicked out of Canada...

Jk, :icare: :)

thriolith 09-06-2004 12:42 PM

Don't go to Tim's too often, none really close. Ah, they're Iced Caps are awesome! Normally just a large regular.

chokeonthis 09-06-2004 01:00 PM

My personal combo...
"Boston Tea Party" - Green Tea Double Double and Boston Creme.
If its one of those small Tims and they don't have green tea, I go for a regular double double and a pair of Sour Creme Plains. always.

giantpizzaman 09-06-2004 01:42 PM

iced caps midday, for morning a toasted bagel with creamcheese is always nice, and dont forget your soup :)

jerikofeng 09-06-2004 06:32 PM

Large triple triple - or Med. double double - not a big coffee fan in general but that creamyness with just the right amount of sweetness is incomparable. :)

bigbad 09-07-2004 04:14 PM

XL double double, with a honey cruller mmmmmmmmmmm. Sugar and caffiene makes for a happy morning.

Jackebear 09-08-2004 01:17 AM

Medium double-double with cinnamon raison bagel with strawberry cream cheese (toasted of course).

I recently went to a Tim's in Michigan and they just don't get it down there...nobody was there. I haven't found coffee that I really enjoy in the States.

serge 09-08-2004 05:08 PM

Large coffee with two cream and three sugar. It's the ultimate formula for a cup of joe.

m0rpheus 09-09-2004 04:21 PM

Okay, I had heard good things about this half hot chocolate/ half coffee mixture so I decided to give it a go last night... oh sweet merciful god I cant think of anything that possibly tasted worse.

Lesson learned here... coffee is good, hot chocolate is good. Mixing the two, well thats not so good.

billyeggs 09-09-2004 07:24 PM

I've got to go with "Single-Single"..... or "Regular" as it is otherwise known!

mokle 09-09-2004 09:42 PM

Breakfast: XL Cafe Mocha, whole wheat honey toasted/buttered

Lunch: XL Cafe Mocha, turkey sandwich big bagguette wheat

Dinner: chili in a bread bowl, when they have it ;)

Merlocke 09-09-2004 10:05 PM

we have this tradition in our office called rookie cookies.
Where the rookie meets everyone by bringing cookies to bribe everyone to come over and visit.

You do it everytime you join the company, move teams, get a new role, etc.
I bring rookie timbits :)

Charlatan 09-13-2004 07:06 AM

I only go to Tim's when I am driving to the cottage... I stop in at the one in Bancroft and usually get:

XL Milk with double sugar, a box of 20 timbits for the kids and sour cream glazed for me.

Tovie 09-13-2004 07:37 AM

either black coffee or french vanillia cappachino depending on my mood, and a fruit explosion muffin.

prosequence 09-14-2004 03:50 PM

double double... keeps me outa trouble

prosequence 09-14-2004 03:50 PM

double double... keeps me outa trouble

tenchi069 09-16-2004 01:57 AM

L Cafe Mocha, 2 sesame seed bagels ( or poppy seed ) toasted w/ lots of butter. That's bfast..

tinfoil 09-20-2004 07:48 AM

XL double double and a honey crueller.

Now, am I the only one that thinks they need an XXL or an Extra Large Pail o' Fun?

PLEASE I NEED MORE COFFEEEEEE

GreenNV 09-28-2004 03:41 AM

I drink a large 3 & 4 and I love their peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies. :)

Blasphemy. 09-28-2004 05:56 PM

It's hilarious that us Canadians are so obsessed with this place.

We only have two Tim's that are open 24/7 and all day and all night there is at least a 15 car line up in the drive through.

When I first got my license i'd go at least 4 times a day.

afraidofninjas 09-28-2004 07:15 PM

Large 1 milk- 1 sugar. A good kickstart for me. Sesame bagel toasted if I've got the growls. Works for me

It's just a doughnut shop alright. I even prefer (gasp!) Krispy Kreme for the warm doughnuts, and the boston creams with white cream instead of custard at KK. Tim Horton's, however, has obtained iconic status in Canada, and many (me included) prefer their coffee over all (even superior) others. I looove Starbucks French Roast, but would give that up for a normal Tim Hortons medium with milk anyday.

When I buy coffe beans for home brewing, i buy the darkest, boldest blends, but there's something about Timmy's on the road that pulls at the heartstrings.

The only thing is, I think the pastries have gone downhill ever since Wendy's bought them. They've gone and standardized all the doughnuts, and the best deal ever, which was the honkin big apple fritter for the same price, is a shadow of its former self.

10k 10-06-2004 04:15 PM

Large double double and a banana royale :)

Styrathys 10-06-2004 07:57 PM

mine is a large 3x3

Scorps 10-08-2004 10:01 AM

Sence I work for Sysco Kingston we handle all of Ontarios Tim Hortons so I really don't eat much of there stuff...I like Ice Caps for summer and sometimes I get a Hot Chocolate in the winter before a morning hockey game!

losthellhound 10-12-2004 08:44 AM

Morning - XL BLACK (sorry, but coffee can only be drunk black, anything else is just wrong) and a sesame bagel toasted with butter

Night (usually with my brother) L black (He cant finish an XL so I downgrade to keep his ego in good health)

Averett 10-12-2004 09:20 AM

If Vanilla Latte's are wrong, then well... I don't want to be right :D

Amen to that. Seriously a buddy of mine L w/2 cream and SIX sugar. I have actually refused to order that, where the hell is the coffee there??? So I get him black and ask for cream and sugar on the side. Its the only way i can avoid the embarassment.

saukrates 10-18-2004 08:44 PM

XL 2x2 - accept no substitutions

Grace, Too 10-19-2004 01:10 PM

Large one cream and an apple fritter. No, that's all thanks.

yoyoyobro 10-20-2004 01:42 PM

jakewesier 10-22-2004 05:53 AM

Black, large or Xtra Large depending on time of Day.

Toasted Bagel with Cream Cheese, or a Boston Cream/Toffee Glazed. Quite partial to the Chilli. And when they have that chicken stew with the Bread Bowl I might as well move into a Tim's cuz that shit is the best.

It's totally screwed up in my neighbourhood there are 2 Tim's across the street from each other, not like figuratively but literally across the street. One is drivethru only the other is indoors only... makes sense to pay rent on two places when you could just have 1 store.

Oh and 1 block down the street guess what... yup another Tim Hortons. I'm starting to think that Tim's should just replace the water company and have the taps in the sink have a Coffee knob and just charge that right to your water bill. I'd be into that!

10-22-2004 06:11 AM

large half black/half English toffee cappacino. You have to add one sugar but it's the greatest thing ever.....

wolfpack0102 10-27-2004 09:25 PM

i take a medium double double coffee or if it is cold a medium hot apple cider

Suave 10-27-2004 10:42 PM

A big freakin' box of Timbits.

scott_p_1 10-28-2004 06:12 PM

Medium Double Double. But after this mornings coffee, I don't think I'll get another one any time soon.
I find Tim Horton's coffee to be really hit and miss sometimes. Almost like the McDonalds of coffee.
But the sandwiches are great. I had a turkey club the other day, much better than Subway.

Molo 10-29-2004 01:44 PM

I'll take the extra large triple-triple with a toasted sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. Having 4 Timmy's right on campus is the greatest idea ever. Especially when they started offering a student discount.

frankgrimes 10-29-2004 10:23 PM

I'm from Vancouver, we go to Starbuck's here - cultural difference...

Janey 11-01-2004 10:17 AM

Mmmm French Roast from Starbucks....

I just returned from Tims, and got my souvenir Remembrance Day quarter.

Keeper 11-07-2004 05:05 PM

Hey All.... Noobie here!! Great Place!!!

Large Black, Double Cupped at 5:30am and about 6 more during the day... hooked???

I picked up a couple rolls of the special quarters too... the girls at Tim's looked after me!!! result of being a good tipper, I guess.

hiro-acid 11-08-2004 03:59 PM

Ugh! Forget Tim's, I can't stand their frozen donuts!

For those of you who missed it, about six months ago Tim Horton's announced that as a cost saving measure they would be "near-cooking" their donuts in Ontario, freezing them, and then essentially microwaving them in-store..

I haven't been back since. My morning start's at Robin's now.. but, uh, to answer the question, lotsa sugar, and a little cream..

aberkok 11-08-2004 04:37 PM

Toasted multi-grain with 1/4 butter. "Steeped" tea if I feel financially secure that morning.

Keeper 11-08-2004 06:25 PM

Hiro, Tim's did that all over Canada... they claim that you can get your doughnuts hot and "fresh" (right!) and it only takes a minute and a half... thing is, the employees won't do it!! They are Terrible too!!

Scorpi_elle 11-08-2004 06:54 PM

Extra Large triple triple, the only way to start the day..LOL
;-)

Dashmonkey 11-14-2004 07:30 PM

Large 50/50 with blueberry fritter, and a M&M cookie...can't start the day without the cookie

Lucifer 11-17-2004 07:58 AM

We live in a town of 18,000 people, 5 (count 'em) Tims. Make mine, Large double cream with a whole wheat and honey bagel toasted with butter.

settie 11-21-2004 10:47 PM

I go to Starbucks for a tall espresso if I really need a wakeup call. But that is the only thing that they have got that is worth drinking.
I go to Timmy's for a Large coffee with a single sugar- I havent bought a muffin or donut or cookie since they changed them all. The only place for good, cheap coffee. :)
Has anyone ever heard of Williams? Im not exactly sure how many stores there are. Ive only seen about 3 in Southwestern Ont. (2 in my city.) But Williams has become my new Timmy's. Seriously, their coffee might be more expensive, but tastes SO much better! Its atmosphere is amazing, great get together spot. They also have good food.

m0rpheus 11-22-2004 04:06 PM

Williams is alright. I find their coffee kind of oily tho...
As far as locations I know of atleast 4 in Kitchener/Waterloo, and one here in Guelph.

godzilla23 11-22-2004 09:34 PM

XL double cream

... maybe a honey dip donut too, if I'm in the mood.

and the new red pepper and chicken sandwich is amazing.

xx emo x 11-27-2004 07:55 PM

Yeah there is one over in Collingwood (or is that a Timothy's?), but I prefer Second Cup to Starbucks. There is one in Orangeville that we stop at everytime on the way to Toronto. The crew are so much less snobby than at Starbucks

bookiebye 12-02-2004 04:52 AM

large single milk/triple sugar and maybe a muffin, depending on if I had time to eat before I leave the house in the morning.
