Uncle Phil's Song Lyric Association & Guessing Game

Yup, this is dedicate to the One, The Only, Uncle Phil. We know how he loves to interject song lyrics. Not sure if you young folks do this, but your elders can answer any question with a song lyric. Anything we hear, read or say reminds us or inspires us to burst into song.

With that in mind, the idea is to post a line or two (no more than that, please!) of a lyric as a response to the previous post. The lyric either inspires or responds to that lyric. This is not to be confused with the Song Title thread. Oh and I came up with a little twist. You can't respond unless you can state the song title and original artist before responding.
No googling to figure out the previous song.

For example, if I post:

I can't see me loving nobody but you for all my life
When you're with me baby, the skies will be blue

You could respond with something like this:

The Turtles - Happy Together (info for the previously posted lyrics, then your response) :

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day

(Which, BTW, is the Allman Brothers, Blue Skies)

The lyric doesn't necessarily have to match and there are no real rules, other than to be sure to first state the artist and song title from the previous post.

I'll start with this, 'specially for Uncle Phil.

The exodus is here, the happy ones are near
Let's get together before we get much older.

"When the still sea conspires an armor
And her sullen and aborted
Currents breed tiny monsters..."

I don't know. The song's actually called Baba O'Riley.

We can change the rules as we go if need be. P.S. If you have any ideas, bring 'em on. Just trying to make it fun and just a wee bit challenging.

the tidal destruction, the moral melee.

I wasn't positive but the "sounds like she's singing" nailed it down for me.

Stevie Nicks, Edge of Seventeen

Go, take your sister then, by the hand,
lead her away from this foreign land,
Far away, where we might laugh again

I can hear the song, just can't get the full melody. I will not Google.

So much for googling. Wooden Ships, CS&N

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream of warm impermanence

Are clues in order before this thread is dead? I can't guess because I googled it already.

How about we just play it like the Word Association thread?

I know my memory sucks and I can't remember song titles, artists and a lot of lyrics, but I'd like to be able to play, and as it is, I'm just a spectator without Google.

Here's my suggestion. Read the previous lyric above you, then whatever that brings to mind, post another lyric. If you want to post the artist and title, feel free.

How does that sound, jewels?

So just skip the guessing part? Works for me. But TopHat's gotta post the song before I can go on.

Okay, Alvin Lee and/or Ten Years After. I'd Love To Change The World. Love it, makes me think of this:

He only had a dollar to live until next Monday
But he spent it all on comfort for his mind.

OK, it's been a couple of weeks, so I resorted to google to get this mving again:

Steppenwolf - Snowblind Friend.

And it plays a mean Rhythm Master
It makes excuses for unwanted lipstick on your collar
And it's only a dollar
