Valentine's Dinner

Ok, I want to go all out, no restaraunt, I wish to cook my wonderful husband a real, full-on, from scratch, homecooked meal for Valentine's Day.

He like any kind of meat, no seafood. He loves potatoes and not big on vegetables, but I would toss some in anyway.
He likes spicy and garlic.
Any really good recipes you can suggest?

Also, maybe suggest a wine or champaigne that will compliment the meal/vice versa and also a desert. He likes lemon and chocolate.

Maesri Brand is recognized in Thailand as a high quality export product with rich taste and authentic flavor. For a quick delicious Thai dish using this product, stir fry one can with 2 cups of coconut milk and let boil for 8 minutes. Add 2.5 lb chicken, 1 lb potato and onion, 1/2 cup water, and cook 25-35 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with roasted peanuts if desired. Serve with jasmine rice. Product of Thailand.

Chicken in Champagne Cream Sauce

This is one of my "Guaranteed to impress a woman" dishes, I'm sure it would work on a guy though.

You'll need :

2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
about 200 mL Heavy Cream
fresh Tarragon, Rosemary, or Basil finely chopped (save a few leaves for garnishing though)
1 glass of the best champagne you can afford
4-5 fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced.
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper

Season the chicken with salt & pepper, then heat the Olive oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken until browned on both sides. remove them from the pan and set aside.

Now, add the champagne to the pan and stir it around over medium-high heat for a minute or two to deglaze the pan. Then add the herbs and cream, keep stirring until it reaches the desired thickness (you'll be able to tell when it's ready), add salt and pepper to taste, and then transfer the sauce to a bowl.

Rinse the pan off, add some more olive oil and finish cooking the chicken with the sliced mushrooms.

Serve it with rice and your choice of vegetable. The wine match should be pretty obvious, the rest of the champagne you used in the sauce.

I really like the sound of the second one- it's on my list!

Try looking up a recipe for Chicken Vesuvio. Chicken with pasta/potatoes in a garlic/lemon sauce. It's delicious.

If I get time later, I'll edit one in.

May I suggest stir fried beef with vegies

Ingredients:

1 lb of steak flank beef
1 cup carrots, brocoli, sliced onion,
1/2 cup of white mushroom
1 teaspoon of salt
1 table spoon of black bean paste
1 table spoon of Oyster sauce
1 table spoon of Olive oil for stir frying.

Direction:
Cut the beef into bite sized peices, 1/10 of an inch thick. Marinate with salt and Oyster sauce and black bean sauce for about 30 mins to 1 hour prior to cooking.
After done marinating beef, pour the olive oil into a pan and heat it up until hot enough to cook beef. Then dump the beef into the pan and stir fry for no more than 3 minute or until the beef is about 70% cooked. After that, take the beef out of the pan.
The vegies' turn: Repeat the same process as did with the beef, when you think the vegies are about 70-80% cooked, dump the beef into the pan and stir fry all together and cook until the whole content is fully cooked and ready to eat.

Served hot with Rice.

I've been eating that ever since I'm can eat solid food and have yet get bored with it.
