roasting kale

i just did this and it is fucking AWESOME. i don't think i will ever eat kale another way again, there is no reason to.

preheat oven to 375. ( i think i did this between 350 and 375, so as long as you are at least at 350 you are good).

get some kale.

fold in half like a book and cut out the woody stem, just like you do with collards.

dice/mince/rough chop/whatever you want to some garlic

put kale in pan, drizzle olive oil and swoosh around with your hands to coat the kale. put the garlic all over the kale.

roast in oven for 7 or so minutes, take out, swoosh around, back in oven for 7 - 10 minutes. you want to make the kale crispy and dry, almost like nori

take out of oven, sprinkle with salt, and eat it up.

I would have never thought of doing something like that. Fuck that sounds so simple. If I ever get any kale I'll try that. Thanks squeeeb.

Neat! The next time I purchase kale for my rabbit I'll save some aside to try this recipe.

Your mention of nori at the end makes me wonder...
If you play with substituting kale for nori, let me know about the results. Kale is much easier to find in the midwest. That and I'm allergic to nori.

Sounds yum. I wonder how this would work using a kettle charcoal grill as a heat source; thinking about just using an aluminum pan. It's too damned hot right now to turn on my oven.

I've been wanting to use kale for a while now but it's not readily available here.

My wife uses essentially the same recipe, but on the rangetop instead of in the oven. Go for it.
