Vodka

This is probably the wrong place for this, but what's a good size bottle for two people? How many shots are in a 375mL?

how many shots in a bottle depends on how big your shots are, what's a good size bottle for two depends on how much you want to drink and how much you can drink.

To figure how many shots are in a bottle, just divide the total volume of the bottle by the size jigger you use to pour.

just buy a regular 750 ml bottle of vodka and drink it and any left over can be used for more drinking or cooking or molotov cocktails.

never buy less than 750ml.

and never buy anything but Ketel One

I usually buy 1.75L bottles, but on rare occasions that I have 750ml, we get a decent amount of shots.. are you talking about shots like.. shot glass hammer it back style or mixed drink style? Everyone pours differently but you should be able to get about 15-17 drinks out of the 750ml I'd guess.. and about 10 from the 350.

we free pour and go at least double shots in drinks so I don't know if I'm on target or not..sorry.

A liter is 33.8 us fluid oz.

A shot is usually 1.5 oz.

Do the math.

Also: What's the problem with leftovers? You're really going to do nearly 10 shots apiece? In one night? I mean, you COULD, but Jeebus. If you have to ask that sort of question, it's REALLY not a good idea to drink that much.

Smirnoff tastes fine, the problem with it is the taste of Vodka is largly psychological, and it has been marketed as 'cheap' so your brain makes it taste cheap. I've done blind tests and can't tell it from Grey Goose, but if I know what I'm drinking, goose tastes better.

Oh, and if you are an inexperienced drinker, which this question suggests you are, I wouldn't suggest going shot for shot through a 750ml...you will be FUCKED UP.

It was not exactly a victory for the underdog, but chalk it up as a triumph of the unexpected.

The idea for the Dining section's tasting panel was to sample a range of the new high-end unflavored vodkas that have come on the market in the last few years in their beautifully designed bottles and to compare them with a selection of established super-premium brands. To broaden the comparison, or possibly as a bit of mischief, our tasting coordinator, Bernard Kirsch, added to our blind tasting a bottle of Smirnoff, the single best-selling unflavored vodka in the United States, but a definite step down in status, marketing and bottle design.
After the 21 vodkas were sipped and the results compiled, the Smirnoff was our hands-down favorite.
[...]

That being said, at the end of our tasting it was Smirnoff at the top of our list, ahead of many other names that are no doubt of higher status in stylish bars and lounges. Some of those names did not even make our Top 10. Grey Goose from France, one of the most popular vodkas, was felt to lack balance and seemed to have more than a touch of sweetness. Ketel One from the Netherlands, another top name, was felt to be routine and sharp, although Mr. Klemm did describe it as "a good mixer."

I drink Taaka. It costs $5.55 for a fifth...

I don't like Vodka any way you package it, so going cheap is the way for me.

Anyway, I can drink said fifth to myself in one night, and I do regularly. When I'm drinking with DaniGirl and her husband, we always have at least two half gallons....

It's all about your tolerance level. If you have a weak to normal tolerance level, 750ml should do just fine for two people.

Story time:

On the most recent Halloween, I went to a party and drank an entire half gallon of Canadian Host to myself, and tried to walk the 8 blocks to home. I passed out in a random lawn....

Go Halloween!
