Gary's speech was one of the funniest moments in this year's Survivor...the look on Judd's face was priceless.

Derwood 12-01-2005 05:36 AM

Derwood's bold prediction time!

Based on the teaser and mid-week TV ads alone, I have a theory about what happens tonight. I'll put it in spoiler tags on the off chance I'm right. I assure you, I have visited no spoiler sites nor have any insider info. I've just seen a lot of Survivor...

Spoiler: We're down to 6, so it's time for our seasonly "food auction". It's the normal deal, with players bidding on cookies, burgers, etc.

As it's wrapping up, Jeff pulls out "The Mystery Box". It could be filet mignon, it could be a glass of lake water....

But it's not food. It ends up being the individual immunity idol! My guess is that either Danni or Lydia get it, putting another kink iin the alliance's plans

Cimarron29414 12-01-2005 12:55 PM

I hate to say it, but I have a feeling Steph might go tonight. She put a target on her head last week. They don't need her anymore and she is their greatest threat.

But, I am still hoping that Judd is puking at loser lounge tonight.

*Nikki* 12-01-2005 06:42 PM

Good ridance to Judd. What a loser!!

fresnelly 12-01-2005 06:53 PM

I think tonight's episode officially returned "Scumbag" into the upper echelon of catchy put-downs.

Gilda 12-01-2005 07:19 PM

SPOILERS GALORE IN THIS POST

Switching so early in the immunity challenge was stupid. When you have a game of any sort with switch with any other player card, you hold it to the last possible second, until you're trapped and have no moves left, then switch with whoever is in the best position. She switched a dozen moves too early.

I wonder if Judd is going to see the hypocrisy in his speech during tribal council and then calling everyone scumbags for voting him off.

I'm pretty sure Judd doesn't know the meaning of the word "hypocrisy". It has three syllables. :D

sbscout 12-01-2005 07:58 PM

Judd's lies continue... he changed from "You gotta do what you gotta do... no hard feelings" to "You're a bunch of scumbags" pretty quickly tonight.

I can't imagine what question he'll ask the final two... he'll have to be careful that his hypocrisy isn't showing...

He'd probably also have trouble with four-syllable words.

Im confused as to why you said she switched too early....her switching got her the immunity

Im SO glad to see Judd gone, Im really rooting for Rafe to win

Derwood 12-02-2005 06:13 AM

Danni clearly saw the layout of the board and that it was the right time to switch. Steph knew it too.

With the 4 guys on the Jury now, we already have the potential for one of the greatest "final trials" ever.

flstf 12-02-2005 07:08 AM

I don't know much about this game and only started following it a few episodes ago but it seems to me that voting Judd off was a big mistake. Since he is so unpopular wouldn't you want to be facing him in the final? It would seem to make sense to get rid of the most liked ones and keep the most disliked ones around if you are trying to win it all.

This is a good point. It's also good to keep someone with a track record of lying around (so long as it doesn't bite you first) so that they will look bad in front of the jury.

Too many times the "Lydias" of the game make it to the final two because they are perceived as a non-threat. But when they have no record of deception or backstabbing, they win (I can count at least 3 or 4 past winners who didn't deserve to win but did in this exact scenario...)

Yes, it did get her the win because she switched with the right person, so in that regard, it made little difference. My quibble was with when she switched. From a game theory perspective, it was too soon. So long as she was still alive and had at least one move left, she shouldn't have switched. Had she played until she had no moves left, two more people would have been eliminated, and as soon as there were just two left, she could have deliberately played herself into a corner then switched, guaranteeing the win. The way she did it, she still had to play well strategically.

Catdaddy33 12-02-2005 03:52 PM

Three cheers for good taste!!! Judd is gone!!! It'll be much better without him around..

As far as sitting next to someone like Judd that backstabbed their way in, they could still win since technically they played the GAME better. It all depends on the jury.. But I agree he would be the best one to sit next too, and the ones that float their way in and win, that always aggravated me..

I thought Danni switched too early as well (my wife and I both yelled at the TV), but was glad it worked out for her. Never sure of the timing (TV editting and all), and made she was counting Steph's moves, but as soon as Jeff said she had a lot of real estate she pounced...

Catdaddy33 12-02-2005 03:54 PM

On a different note, I didn't see any of Gary's post-boot interviews..

Did he say that he ever told them he was a NFL QB? or did they find out when we did?

Derwood 12-03-2005 05:36 AM

He never admittec it, no. Danni guessed, but he denied it every time

sbscout 12-09-2005 02:06 AM

well, at least the latest person voted off got a car out of the deal...

Rafe saying that he would have given everyone else a car and relinquish his...

easy to say when you don't have the choice...

Catdaddy33 12-09-2005 04:27 AM

She might have been ok if she would have shut-up about winning the car. Seemed like she was just rambling to herself to justify it in her mind. It was a tough choice, but politically it would have been wise, and IF she had made it to the final 2, it would be harder to vote someone off that just gave you a car...

simonrex22 12-09-2005 10:37 PM

Im not sure if Cindy's move to keep the car was stupid or not. Her alliance was keeping things from her and she knew there was a target on her head. They wanted her out next and she knew it. Cindy would have gotten voted out the next time even if she did give everyone else the car. Cindy may have been rambling on about the car, but who the hell are Rafe and Danni to sit there and be mad about it.

As of now I want Lydia to win. She's the only one who hasnt pissed me off. Im not sure what Rafe did, but he's friends with Danni who i cant stand. I guess I wouldnt mind seeing steph win, Im from Jersey.

Derwood 12-10-2005 08:48 PM

I want a Danni and Rafe final 2, which means it will be Steph and Lydia :(

Derwood 12-11-2005 06:55 AM

Don't forget, the finale is on tonight (Sunday the 11th) at 8pm Eastern

Ananas 12-11-2005 06:42 PM

What a crew of idiots!

Steph is the biggest threat, and if left in the final 2 will win hands down.

{Edit}
:o Well, thank goodness I was wrong. Glad the Danni won. Rafe should be forced to walk around with 1 million dollars of Monopoly money in his pockets for a year.

Catdaddy33 12-12-2005 04:13 AM

Looks like it was a 6 to 1 vote...I think Danni would have won against Rafe to, since 2nd place gets 100k she probably should have picked him, but went safe and took Steph..

ShaniFaye 12-12-2005 04:26 AM

I really wanted Rafe in the final 2, Steph acted like a damn girl and got the sympathy vote from Danni

Daval 12-12-2005 06:08 AM

I'm happy with how the show turned out. Steph and Dani in the final two was my dream combination.

Was it in fact 6 - 1 total? I figured it would be closer.

kutulu 12-12-2005 07:27 AM

Steph and Dani could be quite a dream combination for me too.

Derwood 12-12-2005 08:05 AM

Danni joins countless other Survivor women who are just plain cuter w/o makeup than with. Who else thought she was more attractive at camp than on the reunion?

Daoust 12-12-2005 08:07 AM

I always think Steph looks hotter out on location than all dolled up in the reunion shows. She is such a babe, but the makeup ruins it for me.

And so is Danni (the back at home, actually eating, and normal weighted one). She was hawt on the reunion show, but scary ugly in Guatemala.

Good show. Danni played it smart. Killed in that final immunity challenge. Rafe is killing himself for not winning that one. A million dollar mistake.

I didn't watch the last half of the reunion show, so I didn't get to see about the next Survivor, but it doesnt' seem like anything new will happen. Same old.

Next up: Survivor Panama. The advertised twist is that players can be "exiled" for a full week, all alone on a tiny secondary island. Then they get to rejoin the camp.

I'd like to see the show set entirely on a tiny island where the players can't get away from each other at all.

The promo also mentioned that the teams would be organized in a way "...never seen before"; but then, they say that every year.

kutulu 12-12-2005 08:41 AM

I thought Dani looked her best at the reunion and although Steph never looked bad after 40 days w/o a shower or makeup she was still hotter. Steph could be the hottest girl ever on Survivor.

highthief 12-12-2005 09:50 AM

Except for those wacky crossed eyes she's got...

Locke7 12-12-2005 11:00 AM

I agree that the Danni vs. Steph was what I wanted in the end. I just can't get over how she not only broke up an alliance of 6 (I know, it was bound to happen) but then she made it the distance.

Why they didn't bring Lydia in to top 3 is beyond me. Steph's logic was dumb. I didn't know if it was physical, or mental. The last challenge is always physical in some way. Rafe really shot himself in the foot by promising Danni top 3 and then when they made it, telling her she didn't need to keep her promise. I don't know why he gave up like that at the end.

Those 2 chicks are hotter out in the jungle. And hooray for Probst signing a couple more years. Without him it wouldn't feel like survivor.

hossified 12-12-2005 01:23 PM

danni was friggin nails at the reunion / real life....on the island she was way to skeletor/ethiopian for my tastes.....can't wait to see if she'll do playboy.....crossing fingers she does, cause those legs go alllll the way up!

kutulu 12-12-2005 01:36 PM

Rafe was being Rafe, trying to play the martyr. His logic was probably that she had to take him and by saying that it instantly gets him stephs vote.

I think it was smart for Dani to vote Lydia out. She could have been a dark horse to win since she didn't do much to piss people off. Dani knew that if Steph won she'd pick Dani and had a good feeling that Rafe would do the same. She also knew that it was unlikely for Lydia to have hard feelings about being left out of the final three.

Um, I disagree:

simonrex22 12-12-2005 09:32 PM

First of all, I would have to say Darrah is the hottest survivor ever. At least when she was on the show. Her real life pics were horrible. Amber is probably second. I didnt like Danni at all, but she looked pretty damn good at the reunion. Steph looked horrible, but I thought she looked pretty hot on the island. She's got hot legs and those abs were lookin awesome.

Anyway, I didnt want Danni to win. I seem to be the only one who didnt like her. I didnt like her from the first few weeks of the show. I was really rooting for Steph in the beginning but she got on my nerves about half way through. When it was final four, I just wanted Lydia to win cause Rafe bothered me too. I wish Danni had lost just for what she did to Rafe. In the end, the only outcome im happy with is Steph winning 100K. I cant completely hate her, because of last season, and im from NJ.

flstf 12-12-2005 09:56 PM

Raph deserved to lose after letting Danni off the hook on her promise, what a dumb ass. Danni had no choice after that because she knew Rafe would surely have won.

No way would Steph get any votes against either of them, the only one better to take to the final two would have been Judd. The only one who had a chance against Rafe in the final two would have been Lydia.

Catdaddy33 12-13-2005 04:15 AM

I didn't recognize Danni at first, it was like it was a new person, at least Steph was recognizable. What was the deal with Danni sucking her teeth everytime the camera was on her at the reunion?

kutulu 12-13-2005 11:21 AM

For most of the show I didn't like Dani but she really grew on me in the last 5 weeks of hte show. She was a lot tougher/smarter than they showed her to be in the earlier weeks.

Locke7 12-13-2005 01:56 PM

Darrah the hottest survivor ever?? No way, Julie (the one Probst is dating now) is way an upgrade to Darrah. I think Julie was the hottest there ever has been.

Looking forward to February back in Panama.

Derwood 12-14-2005 05:06 AM

true, Julie was hot, but she hasn't been kind enough to pose for any pictures for us

Derwood 12-14-2005 05:17 AM

I spoke too soon.
