I just sent in something here: http://www2.warnerbros.com/web/main/...er_service.jsp explaining my disappointment with the movie. maybe it will help them develop a better dvd version...

Sue, it may be too late for that. If they didn't shoot it while they were in production it won't make it into the DVD. I think it is highly unlikely that they would reshoot *anything* at this point.

I haven't read the books - which didn't help - but I do hear about the series continually from nieces and nephews. I have to agree with those above who didn't like it. Certainly not compared to the previous films. Abrupt cuts, too much time in some areas and nowhere near enough in others. We took my brother's kids and they were complaining about it nonstop. Not a good sign. The Potter version of SW episode 2 or Godfather 3?

I don't know how it all works, but if they can flub up a movie they can sure as hell fix it.

Went and saw this movie last night. I liked it. I was quite worried about how it was going to end up after the hurrying I felt they were doing at the first. It's pretty lacking if you compare it to the book, but a pretty good movie. Made me laugh, made me cry. What else can I ask for? *shrugs* (And my husband who hasn't read the books really liked it, and that's a pretty difficult task.)

I am so dissapointed by the Quidditch World Cup. Why did they even bother to have those scenes when they showed no awesome quidditch action? To set up the Death Eaters, I suppose (and I give thanks for Lucius and the Pimp Cane!) but would it have hurt to at least do the Vronski feint to show what a bad ass Krum is?
Someone mentioned the weak females and I agree, Fleur in particular was annoyingly whimpy. I do love the Weasley twins, and the Hufflepuff Band. Did anyone else notice Moody never said it, even once? Drove me mad, it did. |

Any "flubbing" that was done... has been done. My hope would have been that they took the approach that Jackson took in Lord of the Rings and filmed a lot more with the understanding that it would make the Special Edition DVD. Sadly I think the best we can hope for is a few outtakes or trimmed scenes.

The previous three were in no way better. Based on what?
I think the first one was better, but neither of the other two. In the second one, there was alot of boring moments. Mystery can quickly turn to boredom if it never develops into anything. The third one was strange and had some very slow parts as well. Generally speaking, the fourth was almost 2 and a half hours of solid entertainment and escape. What more can you ask for? |

My wife and I went and saw this on Friday - I quite liked it.
I think as a movie maker, you have to try tell a story and you can't be straight jacketed into retelling the book. Both 3 and 4 have done that...

Well okay I finally watched it. I have to say it's my least fav. of all of the movies out now. I thought it left out way too much of the details as usual and the movie was just dragged out overall. It is Harry Potter, so of course I like it, I just didn't favor this one too much.

Saw it. Didn't read the book. And saw the last three as well. For me, this was a good installment. I liked it. I suppose if I look at it a little harder, I can see some problems and some pieces that now make me think "why does that seem like a hollow piece of the movie?" THe Quidditch World Cup...yeah, what happened there? Snape: he actually had words in, what was it, two scenes? Not enough, to me. He is so cynical and dry that you never know if he is being nice or not, which is pretty funny. Hmm. Oh well, I liked it. I've certainly seen far worse movies. I'm ready for the next one!
