The point I was trying to make was they can't add to the DVD what hasn't been filmed. It isn't like they would spend the money to film every scene in the book only to cut them all out. They would have made the vast majority of cuts at the script stage (things like dropping Dobby and the whole SPEW subplot).
Any "flubbing" that was done... has been done.
My hope would have been that they took the approach that Jackson took in Lord of the Rings and filmed a lot more with the understanding that it would make the Special Edition DVD. Sadly I think the best we can hope for is a few outtakes or trimmed scenes.
