Blade Trinity *reviews thread* (spoilers ahead)
After walking into the theatre, not knowing exactly what to expect, I walked out amazed and pleased. I watched the first Blade when it came out on video, and enjoyed it, but missed out on Blade 2. I hear I wasn't missing much. I saw the previews for Blade Trinity and thought. . . Wow this looks Bad Ass.
Going into the theatre, and slept for the first 10-20 minutes when a loud explosion woke me up, and I decided to grab a frozen coke to try to wake me up, (give me a break, I've been up 40 hours). Wake me up it did, the visuals were impressive, not amazing compared to todays technologies, but definately up to par. The story flowed well for the most part. My only complaint is the chase scene between Blade and Drake. It seemed very unnessecary and perhaps just a time filler. Drake is "supposed" to be immortal and yet he's running away from Blade. Whatever, didn't make sense to me. Jessica Biel is hot as shit, and Ryan Reynolds (sp?) plays the color commentator type role. He pulls it off to perfection. The crowd was rolling. I was impressed as well with HHH as he played a pretty major role in the move. Overall the acting and action kept me more than entertained. I'd give Blade: Trinity a solid 4/5

I'm a HUGE fan of the Blade series and have seen B1 and B2 in the theater, as well as bought them both on DVD, so when I went to see B3 today, I was ready for the final entry in the series.
As a final entry, I was so disappointed. I wasn't attached to any of the characters, the plot was nasty ass thin and the ending just left me going.... blech. I felt used. Here's hoping that the Nightstalkers spin-off movie that Ryan Reynolds talked about actually happens, and is worthy of being included in the Blade universe. I don't want to feel this way... really, I don't. I'm quite the Blade fanatic. B3, however, let me down. Here's hoping Oceans Twelve kicks some SERIOUS ass on Friday night. |

I agree with FailedEagle, I went in expecting an action-filled, comicbook movie and that's what I got. Totally satisfied.

Should you go into Blade expecting an engaging plotline and acting? Probably not. I think Blade lived up to what it was supposed to be; an action movie with martial arts and vampires. Don't go into this expecting Spider Man 2 or Hulk and you'll be fine.

I just saw Blade: Trinity and I will give it a 8/10 simply because Snipes is badass in this role as always, and I wanted to rail Jessica Biel every single time she was on screen. SO HOT! Ryan Reynolds annoyed me most of the time, maybe if he had a few more serious lines to balance out the stupid goofy line every time he was in the scene then I would have been much less annoyed. Although when he fought HHH I cracked up because of course they threw some TV type wrestling moves in there.

Although I don't think this was a bad movie, I certainly think there was much to be improved on.
Granted, it had action/martial arts/asskicking... but they changed Blade's charactor so much it annoyed me. What the hell was with him cussing all the time? Not that I have any issues with cussing, but he basically went from silent asskicking vampire hunter to angry black man with sharp teeth. "You think this is a fucking game? You motherfuckers don't know shit" .... ect Also, what was the deal with him not using his sword at all? It was probably the most used weapon in the other movies, but in this one, he didn't kill a single baddy with it. Finally, what the hell was the deal with the Dracula dude looking like Whistler? Obviously, he was dead... why did it matter what he looked like if he was sneaking up on someone who was asleep? Eh, enough ranting, I suppose - like I said, not a terrible movie, but certainly not as good as I had hoped.

Ocean's 12. Blade Trinity compared to the other two sucked balls.
Blade 1 had a good story and better than average action and the "cool" factor was off the meter. Blade 2 had amazing fights(they actually USED CGI unlike Blade 3 for some unknown reason) and action. Blade 3 had crappy fights in comparison. A ridiculous story line. Bad acting. Overboard product placements(the last half of the movie felt like an iPod commercial). The vamps were all lame. The only really good thing about this movie was Ryan Reynolds. That part of the movie was hillarious. |

Blade Trinity was actually my favorite of the three. Sure, it had its polt holes and such, but this *is* a comic book movie, its forgiveable. I thought the visual style was really great and the action squences were incredibly fluid and very well choreographed. Not to mention there were a number of laugh out loud moments too. I can't wait till the trilogy comes out on DVD, it'll be a good collection to have.

I thought the movie was entertaining, that's for sure. I'd probably say a 7/10. I'm generally able to look beyond some issues if the overall entertainment factor is high enough. Such was the case with this movie. Nonetheless, I do agree Blade should have used his sword a LOT more. His name is BLADE for God's sake. Also, the iPod product placements were definitely getting a bit annoying.

Saw this one last night. I thought it was good, not going to be my fav out of the three. I'd say 7/10 as well.

I really think that the two new hunters should have played much smaller roles in this movie. I go to a Blade movie to see the titular character kicking the ever living fuck out of vampires, or "suckheads" as Blade would say. Atleast the Ryan Reynolds character was semi-believeable, he wasn't an over the top badass, but Jessica Biel's character was so fuking outrageously fake I wanted to yell. I really would like to see some wispy girl win in hand to hand combat against multiple assailants who are probably trained to fight. You really think the vampires would let just any bumfuck guard their base during the day when they're vulnerable? Or how about when she overpowered that gang of vampires? Aren't vampires suppose to have superhuman strength? And what the fuck is with listening to her mp3 player while hunting vampires? Does that seem like a really fucking stupid idea to anyone else? No, of course not! Decreasing your tactical awareness is a brilliant move! Sorry to rant like this, but if her character had been toned down, and had the focuse been more on Blade then I would have liked this movie a LOT better. I give it a 6/10.

Ugh I HATED this movie. I liked Blade alot, Blade 2 was okay, but this one was crap. The "plot" was dumb, and the fight scenes were nothing to write home about. Blade seems to be like Highlander, there should have been only one.
I did enjoy Ryan Reynolds who did the best with what he had to work with. 5/10 (and thats mainly due to Reynolds)

I despised this movie more than i possibly imagined. The script was horrible. The basic story was basically the second one with changes and all the good bits left out. What happened to anything in the previous movies? Where are the Vampire Elders? What the hell is going on? Why is Blade now a rapper? "Kill you muthafucker? I'll kill you too Mothafucker, I'll just enjoy it more".... Why was there a Shower scene that showed ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND CONTRIBUTED NOTHING TO THE PLOT OR FILM??? Why do none of the story elements tie together at all? Why does Blade keep up the hunt if the virus they released is supposed to kill all the vampires? Why does Drake turn into Blade AFTER HE IS ALREADY DEAD?!?!
/end Rant Sorry, I didn't expect much from that movie, I really didnt. I expected to have fun and watch and enjoyable action movie... So much for that... The script was bad even for an Action movie. The acting in a few cases was horrendously bad, the plot and story were bad, and the crappy wrestling fight with Triple H? Come on! If I wanted to watch wrestling I would have turned on the TV.. I want sword fights and martial arts and gunfights. The only redeeming portions of the movie were the Pomeranian and Ryan Reynolds line to Parker Posie: "You Cock-Juggling Thunder Cunt!" I give it 5/10

i thought it was decent but as the final entry i think they should have ended it a lot different.
i also thought that they left a lot of things open and didnt explain a whole lot. 8/10 just because of snipes being a badass

I heard it was terrible. Roger Ebert gave the first two Blade movies very good reviews. He slaughtered the third one...it's quite believable since it's a different director at the helm of the series. I loved Blade 2 but I'll probably be skipping this one.

Blade Trinity rocked. You have to look at it from a comic book standpoint. There never is any finality and there are ALWAYS plot holes. Remember the last Matrix? Same thing. These movies are written in comic book form and then translated to the big screen. Blade 2 was the darkest and in my opinion the best. But Trinity was the funniest and Blade it still the ultimate badass. Long live the Daywalker.

Horrible flick. The Apple ipod was practically a character in the movie. I thought it was going to start spouting its own lines at some point. And the "original" vampire was straight out of GQ, not terrifying at all. Nothing more than a 2-hour music video, imo.
