anyone else read geek love by dunn?

i love how she blended dysfuntional with normal and how she expressed the thin line between love and hate between family

(Geek Love is the story of the Binewskis, a carny family whose mater- and paterfamilias set out–with the help of amphetamine, arsenic, and radioisotopes–to breed their own exhibit of human oddities. There’s Arturo the Aquaboy, who has flippers for limbs and a megalomaniac ambition worthy of Genghis Khan . . . my girlfriend got me to read this book and it was quite awesome. Given, trying to explain the plot to my family was like trying to explain high school physics to my dog, but it was a great book nonetheless. I have to say that my favorite character was Arturo though. While he may not've been the most ethically sound of characters, he was incredibly well developed in his madness.

texan, yea lol i had the same problems trying to explain it but i read and re-read it constantly. i must say i liked chick best because he seemed so sweet and eager to please. having all that power and yet being so kind amazes me. i really think that more people shoudl read it. its suprisingly transfixing
