I heard this quote recently on some craft show. Don't remember which one exactly but it's not really important. The craft lady said it in this faux russian accent. It sounded so familiar but I couldn't remember where I'd seen/heard it.
It stuck in my mind and a month or so later I seemed to recall where I'd seen it. In the series finale of Quantum Leap titled "Mirror Image" which aired May 5, 1993 the lead character Sam is in a bar talking to an old crippled miner called Stawpah. He's talking about when he was younger and he says "I no always like this. I was big, strong... like bull." I think that is where Push-Pull is referencing because the guy holds up his right hand to rub his forehead while saying this. There is a script online at http://www.quantumleap-alsplace.com/...irrorimage.htm It's also quite possible that the quote didn't originate on this episode as elsewhere on the internet some other show/movie in the 60's and possibly Rocky and Bullwinkle are mentioned but I don't believe I saw it there. |

Yeah, I thought we resolved this: Uncle Tonoose in Make Room for Daddy, a 1950s sitcom, used to say: "strong like bull, smart like streetcar"
as a catchphrase. His first appearance on the show was in 1956. The actor who portrayed Uncle Tonoose also was the voice of Snidely Whiplash on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, which is perhaps why people often think of Rocky and Bullwinkle as the source.

There's a website out now that allows you to search for phrases in movies, and it'll even tell you the timestamp at which the quote appears. The site is subzin.com, and here's the results for "strong like bull". Nothing that also has the intro phrase "make you", but I thought it was interesting nonetheless.

movie : Dangerous When Wet
starring Esther Williams quote Pa Higgens (William Demerest aka Uncle Ernie on My Three Sons) "makes ya strong huh" (Liquipep salesman played by Jack Carson) "Like a bull !" probably not what your after but whatever it is seems a bit ambiguous. sounds alot like some Bob Hope Bing Crosby movie where they encounter native Americans.
