Six Feet Under's season finale question (spoilers herein)
For those who saw it, did you think that Barb's husband's comments indicated that he killed Lisa or not?
I'm not sure if we're supposed to assume that or if we're supposed to think he left her there at the beach and she was fine (kinda big coincidence that he was there right before she died then), or if we're supposed to assume that Barb killed her because she was pissed about Lisa sleeping with her husband. From what I can tell, it would seem to indicate that Barb's husband killed Lisa. He admits to having been there with Lisa at the location before Lisa died and said (at least I think this is correct) that Lisa wanted to end their affair (which he was fine with) and tell Barb about it (which he wasn't fine with). Not to mention that he killed himself after being confronted with this info, but I guess it's possible that was because Barb had just heard him confess about the affair. Barb seems an unlikely suspect since she seems to be enough of a bitch to have wanted to confront Lisa and her husband together to scream at them. She also seems very distraught about her sister's death (granted, she could be that way even if she had killed her, but just doesn't seem like that's the case). I think it would be way too much of a coincidence for it to have been neither one of them and just something else. There's still a chance it was suicide, but I agree with Nate's sentiments that she would never do that to Mya. Just wanted to see what others thought about this since I was left a bit confused.

I echo your sentiments Booray. I think he did kill her, although I wish they hadn't left it so damn ambiguous. Had to watch it a second time and I still wasn't sure.
I just know this isn't going to ingratiate Nate to Lisa's family. "Hey, not only did I give you someone else's ashes to bury instead of Lisa's, I buried her body out in the desert. Where? I'm not completely sure! To top it all off, I made Barb's husband blow his brains out!" I doubt he'll be invited to Thanksgiving anytime soon.

I dunno. I think maybe the admission from Hoyt may eventually bring Barb back to Nate.
In any case, the problem now is - he's dead. So we'll never know for sure whether he killed Lisa. I agree that all evidence points to him killing her, but I can't remember if the autopsy found any evidence of foul play. All in all, I thought it was a really good episode. Those last few minutes with Hoyt were completely unexpected, and made for some really compelling TV. I also love how similar Hoyt and Nate are in terms of facial features. At one point they both had their hands over their mouths - it was almost like a mirror. The big question now.... Is Maya really Nate's baby?
