Sopranos' Last Season
What's with this show? They started off like gangbusters the first few years and now the seasons get shorter and shorter and take longer and longer in between. I can't believe this storyline has gotten to it's bitter end that it would take them until 2006 to start the last season. I know the stars are now getting other opportunities but they should realize but for this series they'd be second rate actors (for the most part) doing character roles on TV series. I love the show but am more and more disappointed by the watered down story lines coupled with the short seasons and long long hiatuses betwen seasons. All I can say is this last season better be well worth the wait or I'm gonna have to whack somebody!

I don't know why you think the seasons have gotten shorter and shorter, each season has been 13 episodes.

Yeah, and the main reason for the extra delay for season five was a salary dispute with James Gandolfini.
The other reason for the delay is that David Chase wants to take time on each season to make sure that quality shows are produced. I understand how you could be dissapointed with season five (I have the same arguement with all my friends who were basically just plain dissapointed with this last season). However I think the show has stayed compelling. Sure there's less violence and therefore slower episodes. But I think they managaed to keep the drama taut without resorting to sensationalism. Besides, I think they'll surely rev things up for the final season. |
