OK... who saw average joe tonight?

i could not have predicted that ending..

for those that did not see the show and plan on watching later, STOP READING NOW - spoiler up ahead...

Larissa ends up choosing Gil (the good looking guy) over the average joe. Everything seems happy and they fly off to mexico to have fun and get to know eachother. 3rd or 4th day in, Larissa decides it's time for her to reveal a secret from her past. Turns out her ex-bf was Fabio - yes the cheesey romance novel cover model. Gil doesn't like this at all and ends up dumping larissa.. i didn't see this ending coming.. over the course of the show she rejected 25 guys only to be the last one rejected in the end. how ironic..

my questions is: so she dated fabio.. So what??????????? why couldn't he handle this??? i dont' think it would bother me.

can anyone provide any insight?

I was dissapointed she didn't pick Brian, can't say I was surprised though. As for the twist ending, I thought it was pretty lame. I guess Gil just felt inadequate when compared to everything that Fabio stands for. I bet Brian wouldn't have minded.

exactly , so what is the big deal about Fabio, so fucking what he's not likes revered by woman as a god or something, that guy is a dipshit to be pissed about that, now i have to laugh my ass off at her because she didn't pick Brian because of his looks.

Ok here's what pissed me off, she knew she felt nothing for both of the guys, yet Brian would have treated her like a queen. And gil well his reaction from Fabio. WTF was that!?! Who cares that she dated Fabio. I was convinced she was going to choose Brian, and then they pull that crap ending... I guess average joe's are really screwed in this society....

I missed the show but it doesn't come as a surprise to me that she didn't pick Brian. Good riddance on her getting ditched although I have to wonder how much of that was influenced by the producers. Ever notice the disclaimer they run at the end of every show?

I think that it is hilarious that she picked the stupid, shallow, good-looking guy and then he dumped her because of the lamest twist ever. I guarantee that Brian, like any other normal guy, wouldn't have cared about Fabio. Now, if she had dated Magic Johnson...


She made a stupid choice and got burned. I hope she is miserable.

like most ppl i thought Larissa was going to pick Brian cuz of it appeared she had more of a connection with him than Gil. I guess that's the beauty of tv editing..

ha, i never thought that it was a statement about her tastes, but now that you mention it, yeah i guess it doesn't say alot, but i don't know Fabio, so i can't judge him. Judging him and saying that he doesn't have substance is a preconcieved notion that is based only off of the media's portrayal of him. anyone could say the same about any female supermodel or pornstar, just because they don't really know what that person is really like.

Pretty weak twist at the end, and I love how Gil says ANY American Male would agree with him. I'm guessing 95% would NOT agree.

This is the worst twist since the 2000 presidential election. You have to admit that this show was set up from day 1. It may have been the worst thing I have ever witnessed on television, she spends X amount of days with these guys trying to give the average joe a chance, she picks the "hunk" and then mentions Fabio and then its all over. No average joes are picked, she gets dumped after one day. We wonder why other countries are pissed at us?

A friend of mine saw them on some morning show this morning and said that Gil and Larissa got back together. Didn't see it myself, so I don't know for sure.

But yeah, freakin' Fabio??? God, was I annoyed by that. Who cares about Fabio, really. Of all the things to leave someone for... really.
Does anyone remember, years back, He was riding a roller coaster, for some promotional thing, probably in the front car with one or two nice looking ladies with him... and during the ride, he got hit in the nose by a <i>goose</i>? Anyone remember that? So funny... digressing a touch, but seriously, that's funny.

<b>edit:</b> Yep, he was opening a new roller coaster at Busch Gardens in Virginia. Sorry for getting so off topic.

I think I can understand why Gil got so upset. Based on everything I saw on the show, the only thing he has to offer Larissa is that he's pretty. Now, when she tells him that she used to date a guy who many people feel is the prettiest guy on the planet, how can he possibly compete with that?
