I rented Equilibrium blindly, not knowing what to expect.
The action scenes, storyline, and ending won me over entirely.

I've always wondered what a quick ending (in an action movie) would look like.

It's a great movie, the ending scene where Taye Diggs get's owned is the best, course the lightsaber hiss is a nice touch there. The gun duel, is freakin awesome, and gun kata.... my goodness... I can't say enough about it. Awesome movie all around, I watch it more than the Matrix movies, probably cause Equilibrium moves so much faster, I don't feel like I have to grab a five course meal to watch it.

It's a silly movie, I enjoyed it. But the scene where Taye Diggs gets his face sliced off is rather idiotic if you ask me. I'm sorry, but when someone cuts off your face, it doesn't stay attatched for 30 seconds, then slowly slide off. In fact, I'm pretty damn tired of seeing this ridiculousness in movies. Resident Evil, Ghost Ship, etc. have this sillyness in them, and it needs to stop.

The last fight, (the pistol slap fight) was the best I've seen in a LONG time.

i like the fight scenes but that was about it the suprises were sort of boring and it felt like 1984, farenheit 451 and Brave New World all jumbled up recycled then brought up in a matrix look. Didn't say anything new, i wouldn't buy it maybe rent it.so maybe only one thumb up for me.

It was okay. Kind of mediocre.

I guess I'm posting though because I'm shocked so many people loved it. It'll be interesting to see if this turns into a kind of cult movie. Honestly I think it's one of those movies that has some cool ideas (though in my opinion most are borrowed from other books or movies) but poor execution (again, my opinion). So those ideas are latched onto by fans who end up wanting to know the backstory and history of the narrative, which ultimately gives the movie more credit than it deserves for what's in the actual film.

This is one of those movies where its quality and not quantity(money) that make this move. Taye Diggs seemed sort of out of place or his face might look like that with that Mona Lisa smile. What I really liked about the movie was the innovative gun fights and action sequence. And to those who said it hasn't been out on dvd, I've had it for a long time on dvd. Did they make a special edition?

I liked it I was suprised that it got trashed so by the critics, although it clearly showed that it wasn't that original, but it that shouldn't stop people from enjoying itl.
I give it a 7 out of 10

It needed a bigger budget and more love. The first scene where he stands in the dark shooting was so bad me and my buddies decided to remain and watch it despite the fact we had no audio. We made fun of it to no end and decided to make time to watch it through complete with audio and full attention directed at hte movie. THe last half of the movie is great, the first half is pretty crummy.
