I'm reading the Star Wars NJO. I'm a little behind on the books, being currently in the middle of Dark Journey, which means Spoiler: Anakin and apparently Jacen just died, though I'm suspicious of that second one. Due to these two things, I'm kind of fed up. I wasn't surprised when Troy Denning went into the slaughterhouse, as that's his trademark as a writer, but I'm sort of discouraged. I'm not overly attached to any character (with the exception of Lando, he is the man with all his crazy schemes), but it seems like they're just trying to be shocking. So I am planning on taking some time off from the series and rejoining it after I get some breathing room. Anyway, for people that are further along, perhaps done, now, is it worth sticking it out? I have lots of other books to read, and I'm just not enjoying this series as much as I enjoyed X-Wing.

Though I've never read these books, speaking from experience, reading too much of a series will get you burnt out; defiantly space out your readings.
Same applies for books written by the same author. If I read three books by the same author, I'll begin to notice similarities and just grow tired of the author's style.

Take a break, and if the series was good and worth your time, you'll start to get a craving for the books again.

I stopped reading EU a long time ago. As long as they don't kill off Lando I'm happy.

I think it's a great series, keep reading if you enjoy it, they do get better! I swear! there are some great surprises yet to come! (I have read all the New Jedi Order series...)

I agree with Crack. I have read them all and they do get better as they go (with a few exceptions). My question is, now that they're done with this series, what is next? My guess is clone wars stuff.
