Andrew WK on the VGAs?? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Did anyone see Andrew WK perform on the Video Game Awards on Spike TV the other night? It was hilarious! Normally he's jumping around like a maniac and head banging to the point of brain damage. But this time, it appeared that he had broken his foot or something, and he was doing his normal head banging from the wheelchair that he was in. He almost seemed to fall out a few times...I wonder if they had to strap him in. He was even rolling around in circles! I thought that it was quite entertaining, and I was wondering if anyone else saw it, besides me, and what they thought of it?

I saw it. I thought it was friggin' hilarious.

He was really rocking that wheelchair and with the violent head bobbing it's a wonder he didn't flip his butt over.

If he hadn't been singing (I use that term very...very loosely) I would have thought he was in the middle of a wicked seizure.

He is always entertaining to watch perform. The music leaves a bit to be desired, though.

I like his music. It's a bit of a cross between pop and really hard rock, and is more successful at it than bands like Linkin Park or Papa Roach. (I really like Linkin Park, by the way, but as a pop/metal crossover band, they fail. As a hard rock band, they finish well.)

Andrew WK has always struck me as a guy who just really, really loves playing his music. It makes me love him and his music to see him get so into it.

It's a bit like judging a comedian by how hard he laughs at his own jokes. Good comedians have trouble (only a little bit, but some trouble) getting through their own jokes. Andrew WK has trouble performing because he's about to flip himself out of his wheelchair.

He's definitely not handicapped, unless it's happened very, very recently. I can see him going out of control and breaking his foot, though.

Yea. Take the cover of his first cd for instance, the man split his head open. Breaking his own foot is definately not out of the range of belief.

he diddnt split his head open.......he hit himself in the face with a brick

causing a severe bloody nose

for the record andrew is more of a musician than most artists because he plays all his own instruments and then lays the tracks on top of each of each other to create each song

he only needs the band for production support and touring and i would assume they are his friends

i saw that shit, it WAS hilarious. he is one crazy guy and i bet if he had had a piano dropped on his head the night before he STILL would have been out there a rockin'. hes a trooper like that.
