I read that Billy Bob Thornton's favorite novel is A Confederacy of Dunces. Indeed it is a awesome read, and I'd like to see Mr. Thornton direct this film.

Its a series by Robert Jordan. The first book is 'The Eye of the World". Its a little slow in the begining but it picks up. I think there's now 10 books out.

Larry Niven's 'Ringworld' would be awesome on the big screen.

I'd like to see Snow Crash, Neuromancer, the World War series, Apcoylapse Troll, and Necromancer made into movies.

Its been over ten years since I read "Friday" and "Stranger in a Strange Land". Both would make great films if they were done right. I wouldn't want to see them bastardized like the make over they gave Starship Troopers.

Rainbow Six, need a new John Clark and Ding Chavez movie to break up the "Ryan"verse monotony. Also it would never work, Hollywierd would fuck it up faster than a fart in a windstorm but I'd really like to see an adaptation of Micheal Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone series on the big screen. That would be damn kewlies and L33T and whatever else the kids are using for "cool" these days

There was an amazing Star Trek book I once read (sorry I can't recall the title) about the maiden voyage of the original Enterprise with Captain Robert April commanding and Kirk's fater as first officer. It was an urgent rescue mission that was sabotoged by the Romulans even before any human had ever seen one. They have a chance to cripple the whole Romulan empire before it ever becomes a threat. From start to finish I always thought this book would make the best Star Trek movie ever.

Snow Crash would make more sense. It's much more visually oriented. As I recall, he spends a lot of time setting up visual sequences, which could be saved if they can actually show them. They'd probably dump a lot of the Sumerian stuff, though.

I mean, imagine some of the scenes! Hiro in the inflatable building, after he finds that deposed president: decapitation, chase scene, everything. He'd look like Wolverine on his motorcycle.

Y.T.'s escape from the helecopter, or, better, her attack on the Federal building. That'd be fucking amazing!!

Neuromancer is part of a trilogy, so that'd be kinda tough. And it's not as good as Snow Crash, anyway.

What I'd like to see is a remake of Puppet Masters by someone who could include the nudity from the book. But NOT NOT NOT the moron who did the Starship Troopers movie. God, that thing was painful.

Man, I've not been able to re-read that stuff for something like 15 years, but I used to be really in to it, so I guess I can see where you're coming from. It'd be a bunch of movies more about overcoming and growing than about leprocy per se.
