What movie would you like to see made?
After seeing the first two Lord of the Rings movies and how well they portrayed elves, dwarves, etc., I think I would like to see R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf (Drizzt) novels made into movies.

Gates of Fire: An Epic Novel of the Battle of Thermopylae - Tells the story of tthe Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C., when 300 warriors of Sparta held back an overwhelming number(over one million) of rampaging soldiers from the Persian Empire for six days before being wiped out.
and it better be rated 'R'. Its got to be bloody!

I'd LOVE to see some Orson Scott Card books made into movies. He is a genius at makeing moral delimas the center of his sotries while not sacraficeing anything in the way of fun, action or fantasy. One in particular, _Enchanted_ Is a great retelling of the old Russian Sleeping beauty story that involves accadamians and fantasy based(as opposed to hard core sci-fi based) time travel.

If they could convert a book into a movie without chopping parts out, I'd say George RR Martin's Game of Thrones, or Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. edit: actually, don't make Ender's Game into a movie... the book was so good, if they tried making a movie based on it it would only ruin it.

The Wheel of Time movie would be awesome. I heard somewhere a while ago that they were looking at making one. I'm reading George R. R. Martin's A Clash of Kings right now. That series would make a great set of movies as well. |

Dan Simmon's Hyperion series would make a cool series of movies, IF the filmmakers stayed true to the book.
Although, after seeing what they did to Starship Troopers maybe it's a better movie in my brain.

hmm well video games i think would be a cool movie,
i think command and conquer: tiberian dawn would be awesome, although the gold edition was basically a movie with all the clips between missions. tenchu would be an awesome movie as long as they made it nice and gory i think they should do an aliens vs. predator too i am a huge comic book fan too, and i think they should make an x-men spinoff movie about archangel's life, it would be one hell of a movie as for books, stephen kings dark tower series, especially the gunslinger, i love those books

Ender's Game/Shadow is in the works, though it looks like it is still a long way off. Here is a link for anyone interested:
http://www.philoticweb.net/movie/ Just don't believe that first post (posted on April Fools Day). I am pretty sure the rest of the site is serious. I too am worried about the making of this book into a movie as it was too good of a book to see butchered by hollywood. Though, it sounds like Card is very involved in the process of making the movie, so there is hope! |

As far as Fantasy/Science Fiction goes, I've always wanted to se Edgar Rice Burroughs "A Princess of Mars" made into a live-action film; it would be great to see an army of Green Martian warriors mounted on eight-legged Thoats charging across the ancient dried seas of Mars!

Stephen R. Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever double trilogy.
I always thought it could never be done, but having been amazed by Peter Jackson's version of LOTR, I now believe it could be.

I want to see more Heinlein stories made into movies.
They can start with "Stranger in a Strange Land", but I want to see "Number of the Beast" in a big way. "Friday" would be another good one. and I also want to see "Starship Troopers" except with the Battle Armor this time. The cartoon is pretty good. |
