Movie Sixth Sense
I know that you guys will probably think that I'm crazy, but I have this sixth sense about movies. Whenever I watch the trailer, I immediately know whether it's going to be good or not. The same thing at the tape store. I just know.
Do any of you have similar experiences or am I just high? |

Hmm... well, I seem to have the anti-6th sense for some movies. As in, I'll see the trailer or a commercial for the movie, think that it's gonna suck and not do well, and then later wind up watching that movie and loving every minute of it.
Toy Story and The Matrix are two examples that immediately come to mind. I know there are others but my memory eludes me... |

Trailers don't really give a review of the movie, but it does give an "impression" of what the movie could be like. Most of them usually make the movie look worse or better than it really is.

However Trailers can be very misleading due to poor editing. |

Yeah, it usually is pretty easy to determine if a movie is going to be good. Sometimes I'm surprised though. Sometimes I'll see a trailer and think it's going to suck, then I end up seeing the movie and enjoying it.

Trailers tend to give you an idea, not if the movie is good or not, but rather if you're the type of person that this film is aimed at.
E.g. When I see Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant in Two Weeks notice, I know that it is not the movie for me. It simply isn't my thing. In essence, I know it will suck. If I see a film, which I think does look like it may appeal to me, then I will probably go check it out. It may be good, or it may be bad. In essence, it's easy to see from trailers that certain films will be shit. It's harder to know if a film is going to be good... if you get me... man I really suck at explaining things. Meh.

Oddly enough, I seem to have NO sense when it comes to movies. There have been quite a few times that I couldn't tell whether it was good or bad AFTER I watched it. I guess that's something to be said for todays movies, I just don't know what's being said.
