Anyone read this series? A song of ice and fire?

If you haven't you should. I just finished the second book of the series and it's earned several stamps of approval from myself. The author is a master of baiting emotion, he changes pace and surprises me almost every chapter. Very good, you should read it.

Also, people get killed in the most fucktacular of ways it brings a tear to my eye.

yeah, i'm reading that series, i like the more poltical aspects of the earlier books, as they progress it becomes more and more battle-oriented, but, i at least like that it isn't the steretypical mythical quest kind of deal for a fantasy series. i look forward to reading the 4th book.

Martin is a doing a great job with this series. I just wish he would put out a book a little sooner than every 2.5 years. There is so much going on i have to re-read to get back in.

Yep, those books are really really good.

I just played a boardgame based on the books; "A Game of Thrones Boardgame" . If you like boardgames with a lot of backstabbing then this is for you

Best. Fantasy. Series. Ever.

I love this series so much. Particularly the fact that the typical fantasy elements play such a small role in the series. Plus you have such marvelous characters as Tyrion Lannister. Great series, all in all.

I've read it. It's pretty good. Not my favourite, but still really good.

I agree, it is certainly one of the best fantasy series out there. I just wish GRRM would GET OFF HIS FAT ASS AND FINISH THE NEXT DAMN BOOK ALREADY!!!

Because you could agree on things, you could compare notes. That must be why people get married or make Art. So they'll be able to really know something and not go insane.
