One day an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each bought a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" Last edited by BigGov; 09-21-2003 at 11:48 AM.. |

I'd put The Dude at #1. If you were a true fan, you'd know that Jeffrey Lebowski in the movie is "the other Jeffrey Lebowski, the millionaire!" to quote Walter. Jeff Bridges' character, The Dude, is the real winner, and I think is the best movie character of all time.
Now, if you really were going for the millionaire, my apologies, but that would make me lose respect for the rest of your list. Donnie Darko too, he's great.

Hmmm... I'll try to come up with a list off the top of my head, but I'm sure I'll miss a few good ones. And for cryin' out loud people, tell us what movie they were in. Not everyone knows all these.
Some of these may have originated in books, but I'll put them on here anyway. Here they are, in no particular order. 1) Tyler Durden (Fight Club) 2) R. P. McMurphy (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest) 3) HAL 9000 (2001: A Space Odyssey) 4) Darth Vader (Star Wars) 6) Henry Hill (Goodfellas) 7) Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver) 8) Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark) 9) Rocky Balboa (Rocky) 10) Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs) 11) Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction) I would add Tony Soprano (The Sopranos) to the list, but I think he's out of the running. Of all the characters from Reservoir Dogs, why did you pick Mr. Brown? He's barely in the movie! Go with Mr. Blonde or Mr. Pink or someone.
