Anakin's New Look in Episode III!

Now that's pretty bad ass!

Go here for other pics:

It's quite nice to finally see C-3PO in his golden regalia again, can't wait for Episode III!

TheForce.Net are hosting a comparison photo of Episode III Anakin and Episode VI Luke:

Tight! Wonder if he ever got a better-looking prosthetic hand... the gold one he had in the last movie was way too Area 51.

Yup they have, well, Anakin wears a black glove on that hand much like Luke did in ROTJ.

Bleh, I hate Hayden Christensen. However, even with the previous two episodes being merely okay, I am still hoping the last one will be bad ass.

Indeed it will, however the armour will be slightly different to that seen in the OT but not enough to make one say "Is that Vader?" you'll be saying "OH MY GOD! *splooge* THAT'S VADER!"

He doesn't look like a bad ass too me. Longer hair will not improve his acting either and I dont have much faith that #3 will be anything significantly different that the horrors of # 1 and 2.

Hayden's acting wasn't fantastic but to quote a line he uses in the film "he's holding me back!", I believe 'he' is George Lucas. Lucas is a control-freak who wrote a campy (though loveable) script and didn't let his actors roll with the lines. Apparently in Episode III Lucas has told his actors to improv here and there and be more relaxed.

I'm probably just a big ol' geek but I find the scene where Anakin confesses to Padme about killing all the Tusken Raiders very chilling (especially on the DVD version where he says "I'm a Jedi, I know I'm better than this.".

Hopefully Hayden will be able to come into his own in Ep3. Regardless I'm going to enjoy and love the film as any devout Star Wars fan will.

A year or so ago, I read that Lucas had already contracted with James Earl Jones to provide a few lines of dialogue in episode 3, so yes, something happens that causes Anakin to have to wear his special suit and we will get to see it.

Can you tell me what they're supposed to be comparing in these pics?

If it's hair, then shouldn't they have used the Luke hairdo from Ep. IV?

It looks a little more wild and wavy and it looks more like the new Anakin hairdo than Ep. VI's does.

Anyway, the pics look great to me, and even though the first two Episodes weren't as good as the original trilogy, I still enjoyed them and I'm looking forward to III.
Thank you Mr.Deflock, for once again enhancing my TFP experience.

Yeah, I agree with that 100%. If Episode III is actually good, he has a very good chance to redeem himself. This could easily fight off the horrible aspects of Episode II. I honestly doubt that it can be done, but I'll always hope. Well, a little bit anyway.

I sense the dark side in him... very cool. Though I was kinda of hoping for a look closer to that of Anakin at the end of Ep. VI when he's glowing and stuff, a little older and such. Oh well, he still looks very cool.

Agreed.
If Hayden Christensen had any sense of dignity, he would return every cent he got paid for being in that movie, 'cause - believe me - he stole that paycheck.

And somebody needs to tell George Lucas that having special effects as the sole redeeming value of a movie worked in the 80s only because he was the only one doing them. Now he is one of many.

I remember when I heard that Hayden Christensen got the role of Anikan I had just finished watching Life as a House, and thought he did a decent job. He was good in The Virgin Suicides as well.

Then, I watched Episode II... If I could have invented a device that allowed an audience to reach through the screen and punch him in the throat, I'd have made a fortune. I'm still not convinced that Lucas didn't think it made a great joke by having a cardboard cutout of Hayden Christensen play Anakin... Ha ha, very funny George...

I don't blame Hayden's acting ability, I blame Lucas' controlling ability. I doubt he's saying "Ok that take was good, but now, more anger," and then "getting better but still, anger, and remember that your only relative was tortured to death".

Like I said before, Lucas has been made aware of this by the fans and McCallum and he's said that he's giving the actors space to breathe. I still very much enjoyed Ep1 and 2, and am thoroughly looking forward to Ep3.

Let's not forget how hard it must be for the actors to do half the movie in front of a blue screen. I hate to bring up Lord of the Rings in a Star Wars thread, but in just about every featurette you see on the LOTR dvds, they talk about how amazing it was to be working in New Zealand because everything was just so beatiful they barely had to act at all. They could just feel how powerful the shot was going to be.
