Survivor Nicaragua
Shani used to make these threads, but I don't see any thread for this season - Nicaragua. Anyone else watching?
So far this season has been pretty interesting, with the "young vs. old" tribes and the switch mid season. I also liked the concept of the item that you could use to make the challenge easier, but in turn had to had it over to the other tribe. I've been a big fan of Marty, so far, because I think he really does understand the strategy of the game and plays it like I would; likely because he's a 'technology executive.' It's really a shame that Kelly B had to go home, especially since everyone was doing it because of the leg. What's worse, is that not only is Kelly B an amputee, but I found this out from the Survivor site. When asked what her inspiration was, "My father who was recently killed in the earthquake in Haiti. He was there with Food for the Poor to bring hope and aid to people less fortunate. My dad was a doctor, a teacher and a humanist. I most admired him and looked up to him for his willingness to help others." Now I'm not for pity votes, but damn! Jud, aka "Fabio" makes me laugh. He's so dumb, and it he makes Courtney of the last season seem like a cunning strategist. Brenda is a pretty good game player too, but I wonder if any of the guys (or girls?) are being wooed by her looks. She's incredibly attractive, and I imagine it probably lulls them like Pavarti's wiles did in previous seasons. I'm glad they got rid of Jimmy T and Jimmy J. Jimmy T was obnoxious with his constant pleas of "I can do it guys, really I can!" and Jimmy Johnson had to go just because of his random celebrity that had everyone all dumbfounded. I think Yve is a pretty solid vote on the old people team, and she seems like she really gets the game, or at least how people are.

Nae is fucking crazy. Her stunt last night of stealing half the shit makes me really wonder how mature she is. What'd she think that would get her? It was like a childish tantrum, backed up by a childish apology (and another lie). She'd absolutely not get any jury votes if she made it to the top 3.

Pulling for Marty all the way. My wife and friend hate him but I've liked him from the beginning. This season has been pretty good so far......the tribal councils have been a riot at times. I hate Jane and Sash, though I do give Sash major credit for following his word with the idol (which essentially made him getting the idol useless lol).

I was hoping for Marty too, and just like him I didn't see this one coming. Difference is, obviously Brenda and Sash had to plan this, but they edited it so that we wouldn't see it coming. Sucks though, if I were to rank people I think "deserve" it in the sense of gamesmanship, it would've been Marty, Brenda, Alina. I don't even want to put Sash on there, he just seems too smarmy for me. Thinks he's hot shit when he's really only riding on Brenda's coat tails.

Brenda got screwed by Sash last week - he looked a bit smug not using his idol to protect her. I was rooting for her until she admitted in tribal that 'scrambling' was 'below her'. Was she even playing the game any more?

I don't know if she really got screwed by Sash, she was a sinking ship and he bailed. He didn't organize the move against her, he just saw it for what it was and moved on. I do hope he gets voted out soon, he's a cock. I also want Jane and Nay out ASAP.
It would be hilarious if Fabio made the final. I also thought Brenda not scrambling showed that she wasn't really in the game. Nobody coasts through survivor. Last edited by kutulu; 12-01-2010 at 01:05 PM.. |

Well...that sucked. What a lame excuse for an episode, and it's amazing how short-sited, unintelligent, selfish, and immature N[vowels]nka comes across. Too bad she was able Spoiler: to peer-pressure KellyB into quitting with her.
This season has sucked so far. Almost zero good game play, lots of idiots bumbling around making bad decisions. Super weak compared to the layers upon layers of intrigue we got last season...hate or love Russvivor, it was at least entertaining to watch.

This season has been pretty much a waste. After eating food and snacks, Nay still wants to quit... Well, if she would have said that she knows she has no chance of winning, even if she made it to the finals, that would have been true. Kelly had a chance however small.
I don't understand why after 28 days they don't have a shelter with walls yet? They need to change a few things up for next season. Either have celebrity Survivor, or all one gender and then the other for two seasons. |

What a fucking bitch. Nae is all about "get me some, screw everyone else." It was pretty obvious from her choice about the reward tonight. Gah, I'm glad she's gone but I too hope that they get some intrigue going - it looks bad when two of your contestants don't even want to play anymore.
I did really like Jeff's total reaming of her .. "Now really, Nae.. did you think you had any chance to win at all..?"

Dan should have been the one to offer to forgo reward so that the others could get a tarp and rice. He didn't do anything in the challenge, while both No'Onka and Kelly both put in their efforts despite saying they were already going home.
This season has been a real disappointment.

After going for days on just rice, I can't really fault any of them for not wanting to give up the food. But, they are also playing for $1 million dollars and only a few of them left actually deserve it, so it will be interesting to see if they get voted out.

I don't think Jeff gave him the choice. I'm pretty sure he named the 4 people who actually played when offering the choice

Wouldn't it be funny if Dan won? He has so far been viewed as a non-threat they can always get rid of later. He might just be a non-threat right up to the end.

oh wait, she DID do the same thing, just one episode earlier! She claims she never lied in the game, but didn't she help convince Benry that they were voting for Fabio?

If anyone noticed something odd about tribal this week, here's why:
Jane supposedly accused Sash of offering to pay her mortgage off if she would vote for him, get others to do the same, and he won. This was right after she ranted at Holly--I thought something was weird that she only 'ranted' at one person, when it sounded like she was going off on a tear. Jeff stopped the cameras, conferred with the producers, and decided not to air the accusations, but also not to take any actions as far as DQing Sash or instructing the Jury, since it was all hearsay. Evidence for these claims still exists in the 'behind the scenes' clip here, by way of Jane and Sash's confessionals being cut and the comments that weren't cut not making sense in the context of what was aired:

Yeah, it will be interesting how he will spend the money. A large part will go to taxes, some will go to his family, some will go to his lifestyle... It will be interesting if they do a followup a few years from now on him.

I recorded this season and just finished watching it. (watched it in 3 days)
Overall, I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the fact Jimmy Johnson and Dan were included, both due to the fact they both stated they didn't need the money. Those two slots could've been given to other contestants. In the reunion, Jeff asked Jane how much she earns a year. When she said $50,000, I was dumbfounded. She made the impression during the game that she was almost destitute, and on the verge of losing her house. I wonder how many wouldn't have voted for her to get the $100,000 consolation prize if they had known that? Anyway, I'm pleased with Fabio winning, (boy, he's got a hot mom & sister) and glad Sash didn't get any votes. One last thing, for the love of all that's holy and sacred, could we never see or hear about/from Boston Rob again?
