Adult Swim is going downhill
I thought the words flashing by on the screen were kinda funny at first,, but now I hate them. It gets really annoying. I can't believe they stopped showing Cowboy Bebop, either. I was just in the middle of recording them all with my TV-Card!
The recordings were messed up anyway, the show started 2 minutes earlier than it should have, so until I realized that, all my recordings were worthless. Lupin the 3rd sucks IMO. Futurama and Family guy are cool, but they're all re-runs. Has anybody else been dissapointed in Adult Swim lately?

meh. it's what you make of it.
i got really really pissed when they stopped bebop and trigun, but then i realized how much i love lupin - he's an aquired taste, at first i didn't like him either, then i watched it for a bit and got really into him. i don't like reign and i don't like kikaider, but those are my opinions. futurama is a classic in my book, and the family guy was a sleeper hit... i think they're doing well. i'm really psyched for the new big o episodes they're gonna bust out, and i think the new cards are also a great thing... overall, i'm a lil miffed at them for stopping bebop midesason, but i'm still staying up to watch them. keep an open mind when you're watching... or just go to bed earlier and be a productive member of society. as to recording, quityerbitchin and do it the old-fashioned way... set yoru vcr to start recording for three hours at a specific time.

productive member of society,, what are you crazy??
I'll give Lupin another shot, I only watched it once, but I was kinda pissed at it for being in the place of Cowboy Bebop.. I don't like Reign either, I really don't like the way it looks, too jagged for me. It makes everybody look anerexic. I would love it if Cartoon Network would just not show all the stuff on really late at night and extend Adult Swim to make it a Nick at Night type of deal.

Reign is by the same people/person who brought us Aeon Flux. How can you be mad at that? Besides, it isn't trying to copy anyone elses style.

I think Aqua Teen Hungerforce's never been funnier than it has been lately, but Sealab is beginning to seriously piss me off, and I never liked it all that much in the first place. A lot of the recent episodes seem to enjoy testing the viewer's patience, which was something that felt original in Space Ghost (remember all those times they pulled that trick of running the same episode twice in thirty minutes, and you'd watch closely for the twist that never came?) but comes off as sloppy seconds here.
I love Lupin, personally- I wish they'd circulate the episodes a little more though.

I don't know why people are pissed off that they took away CB. It's been on reruns for about a year now. So calm down. They're just trying to take a break and reshow it later.
Reign sucks cause it's boring Korean crap trying to be like anime. Lupin is an acquired taste. Futurama has to stay until they run out of all the eps that has been made. It's a shame that Family Guy lasted only 3 seasons. Perhaps they should try to buy this new show that Seth is making. |

If you watch the "Incredibly Annoying" (someone else's words, not mine) interstitials, you'd find out that Reign/Lupin are being rotated out in 12 days, and that Cowboy Bebop will be back in September.
I personally like the text they throw out there. The 'All Music and Times Eastern'... Classic.

Like the new cards. Like Futurama and Family Guy. Love the Aqua Teens and Sealab.
Don't like that they've run the Harvey Birdman/Blue Falcon two-part episode TWICE in the past month. What's up wit' dat? "twelve jurors, one judge, half a chance"

I dunno. I feel lucky just to get animated shows that aren't for the kids on my TV. We watch Futurama and Family Guy if we like the episodes, and that's it. Having to get up before six prevents me from watching the later stuff. I miss The Oblongs, that show made me laugh a few times.
I just like that they're experimenting with the lineup and the format and so forth. It's a good idea, rather than just sticking with the same old thing for too long.

I always thought Family Guy was the funniest show on television, and I was so psyched when they put it on Adult Swim, so that makes everything OK in my opinion, I don't get into that anime stuff anyway. So I stick around for the genius comedies then change it.

The cards are awesome. I've heard that the "What We've Learned from the Message Boards" segment was based on stuff they found on the AS boards on the main site (I don't know for sure, you have to register to the boards to even view boards). I'm giddy like a schoolgirl about Big O coming back, though.

I didn't even bother to read the other posts. All I know is that staying up late on a Saturday night straight through a Sunda morning used to be worth it. It was one of the few times I was every happy in life, and they had to ruin it by fucking with the Adult Swim schedule. Cowboy Bebop is teh r0x0rs god damn it! I sat infront of the TV with my bed-couch and a big matress ontop and my big cup of tea and, god damn it it was so farking awesome. If I could shoot the people who fucked with Adult Swim in the balls with a beebee gun, I would. I'd do it over and over and over until their balls became limper than they already are and turned purple. ::goes off to sulk for a few hours in a corner::

Adult Swim has it's ups and downs, right now it is down. But I am sure it will get better. Remember they also had Trigun (do they still?).

No one has mentioned Inu-Yasha yet? That's the best show on Adult Swim right now! I HATED it at first, but now I'm obsessed with it.
And in August, they're going to show FLCL. If you haven't seen it yet, it's gonna blow you're fucking mind and make you forget Bebop entirely! |

I am a bit squamish at the (temporary?) departure of Trigun, but I've seen ever episode, so It's not too bad. I wish the new episodes of Home Movies would be more frequent. Or hurry up and get here. Home Movies is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen, along with Aqua Teens.

What? Trigun was on Adult Swim? Oh, and isn't FLCL from Gainax? Gainax = I will be glued to the TV. PM me when it starts coming out or something, because I wanna watch it Oh and yeah, Inuyasha rocks major ass. I was obsessed with it until they started fucking with the schedule and rendered the show unwatchable.

Sealab is still funny as shit, aqua teen hunger force is still funny as shit, futurama is good, and family guy is the paragon of funny. I generally -hate- anime, but inuyasha is watchable. I think adult swim is great still.
Also, Reign seems to be big on scantily clad men hinting at their sexual orientation. Or to put it another way "Reign is gay".

my favs are Aqua Teen, Family Guy, Futurama, and Home Movies. the rest is alright, and i dont personally care for the anime stuff. with the anime, you pretty much have to follow it from the beginning to know whats going on.
BTW, just today i found that the Family Guy is on TBS. i live in AZ and it was on at 11:30 this morning. i've got to catch whats on before then in the morning. |

Geez, yeah, there is crap and then there is greatness. Don't dog any anime until you've seen the complete series, especially Reign (I'm not a fan, haven't watched more than 1 episode). You have to feel things out give them a chance, after all, it's more than just graphics. You have to find the elements you like.
Sealab, their just trying too hard, jesus, that old guy gets annoying after a while. He starts doing completely stupid shit (which isn't a bad thing but then he does stupid STUPID shit. Like that made any sense.) Anyway, I'm just saying I find all the good in those shows I watch especially the Oblongs (they really do get me sometimes , I can't believe the goodie two shoes WB 33 was actually gonna show them for a while! Boy, those 7th Heaven soccer moms sure would have been pissed, god forbid.) And, Space Ghost don't dog him. Even though I don't understand what he does everytime, he is a classic and he will rarely let you down. For the most part, I like ALL the shows on Adult Swim. But would prefer not to watch Sealab (obvious reasons), Home Movies is ok, I'm sure, but I haven't watched much of that anyway. But as is, definently could get a laugh out of it (now that show has some horrible graphics, before you start your yapping about Reign). I stop here. And another element to consider is maybe since its shown from 11:00 to 1:00 (here in central time. don't bitch at me for being an hour off. I don't really follow the schedule anyway) we really just don't give a shit when we're lead astray or confused or given a long boring plot. We say, "Ah, fuck it!", and turn the tube off. Now, if we saw the show during the daytime; we'd enjoy them better. Cause I sure as hell know I'm ready to pass out as soon as those commericals and annoying black-and-white promos start rolling. *On a side note, Fuck the after-hours I can't stand 'em. (Well, only while watching TV. Internet is another story.)* Shows that could really be crap: Betterman (Ah, just look at it) and Evangelion, from what I hear is too long and has a boring plot. Won't stop me from buying a dvd though. Gotta taste a little of everything.

I think Adult Swim is doing fine. Granted tehy lost Cowboy Bebop and Trigun but they've been airing them a while and they only have so many episodes might as well put in some variety with new anime series for a while. I really enjoy the additions of Family Guy and Futurama to their line up. Though Sealab is becoming more and more hit or miss for me too many episodes rely on the same gag for most the episode i.e. The Uh-Oh episode. I think Aqua Teen is still doing pretty well. As for the black and white promos I don't see why everyone hates them did you perfer whatching old ladies swimming? At least the black and white spots are cheap enough that every now and then they can make new ones and they are usualy fairly comical.

Good point about the promos. But I don't like what they "assume". During a recent promo for Big O, "Later on during the end it gets a little confusing. Don't worry though. We'll have a hotline open. etc. etc." To sum it up. The rest I'd care not to mention. Now come on are they getting corny or what? They especially need to keep their "assuming" comments to themselves. I guess there was an earlier promo way back, again, telling me what to do and since have just found them annoying.
