Anyone else disappointed by the "faking cancer" storyline?
Not so much that he would fake cancer. That line, "No, I was sure it was cancer" when he was confronted with the "good" news just didn't sit well. His three yokels figure out it wasn't cancer, but House didn't? I did enjoy seeing Dave Matthews though...that guy's a pretty good actor as far as musicians go

As far as the season finale goes, I think it was awesome. I was so incredibly tired of those particular three especially Foreman. Speaking of which, how great was that last scene between him and House?

Do you guys really think they are gone though? I could see one, but not all three.

I doubt they're gone for good. Despite this episode's emphasis on change, House the series generally has very little change. Vogler, Tritter, House getting shot and getting his leg working again all resulted in the status quo. Aside from some subtle personality changes like Cameron being less sweet and naive and Chase actually contributing something, House and co is still the same. Plus Omar Epps said in an interview that he would be back next season.
That said, I really liked this episode. It showed House being a little more human, or at least trying to when he asked Foreman to stay and smoking the cigar with the Cuban. It's also nice to see Cameron and Chase together since they're engaged in real life.

From what I understand all three of them have resigned for the next season. I was also reading last nite that because of Fox's baseball obligations the new season starts August 9th...I guess we'll see how true that is.
I read several things last nite with people speculating that House is actually still in a Coma and this season was the "dream" season....any thoughts on that?

re-signed?
Nuts. Maybe that new position they offered Foreman is to lead a super team of twenty-something doctors who will take on House each week in a contest to see who can diagnose the death dealing disease of the week. A medical mod-squad, if you will, with theme music and multi-colored lab coats. And Foreman smirking. I hope there's lots of Foreman smirking.

I have nothing important to contribute, but I would like to add that everytime I see Dr. House in the show's ads, I expect him to say, "No, it's pronounced EYE-gore."

I never have seen this new show but I am a huge fan of Black Adder and Hugh Laurie's work in those numerous productions. He does a very good American accent from the trailers I have seen of House ...recedes back into shadows...

We're a couple of months behind over here - I just watched the season finale on Hallmark (we get a British version on cable) and was interested in how they resolved the entire team leaving - so I may go and look up some spoiler sites.
The whole House thing passed me by until very recently, when I bought Series 1 on DVD in a sale. This weekend I bought Series 2 in another sale, and I saw most of Series 3 over the past couple of weeks (Hallmark ran an episode every weeknight at 9pm). I think Series 4 is running on the UK station "five" (always lower case, always spelled out!) in a few weeks/months.

Well, no one has really discussed this season....but for anyone that HAS been watching, I'd love to know what you thought about the season finale....
I admit...I cried...and cried some more. Spoiler: I really found it unnecessary to kill off Amber.....Wilson really deserved a chance with her and I was looking forward to more antics between House and Amber in the custody sharing of him lol Im really not sure how much I liked this season......I just cant get into the new people, I dont like any of them, not like I did chase and cameron (forget Foreman, cant stand him)

I watch it!
I couldn't believe it. Bawled my eyeballs out. Definitely a different season. You could feel the bonds between the original "gang". It's funny how they're all still there in a small way. I hope the network's listening to their audience.

I agree; an unnecessary ending.
I missed a lot of the season, I think it got screwed with big time too with weeks and weeks between episodes. I think the season finale also makes a path way for you to better like the new characters; you find out something about Kutner, you see Taub cuddle up to his wife at the end. I think next season has a lot of potential to really dig into the backgrounds of the new staff. But *sigh* I still miss Chase and Cameron! **Also** Cuddy has a much more amazing body than I expected in her little strip tease dream sequence...unless that was a body double...

I gotta admit, I never liked the Amber character, and was happy when she was cut from the group. I was also disappointed when they brought her back as Wilson's GF. So while the ending affected me, it did for different reasons than most. I am interested in seeing what lengths House goes to get Wilson's friendship back, or, if he is unable to, to what new low he will hit in his personal life.

That finale I thought was pretty great. I was kind of sad to see Amber die, I wasnt a fan of her at the beginning but her storyline with Wilson and the interactions with House did start to get interesting. Plus it was nice to see Wilson at least finally in a relationship.
I'm fine with the new batch of doctors, and I like how the old ones are still involved.

Funny, I liked Amber more than the other newbies.
They have some great writers. It's amazing how they can keep coming up with new material and work in some great characterizations. Is this a group that have worked together before? Anyone know?

I really didn't want to like the season finale. I was all ready to think that it was trite; killing someone off in the season finale is a cliche. I found myself bawling through most of the episode. Couldn't help myself. I wonder if Amber will be back in any other form next season. Never know!

I was moved by the season finale. I thought it was great to see such a drastic change in House, how Foreman acts more and more like House, and how House at the end knew his problems, and that none of them hurt him when in his head. I really can't wait for the next season. I really see a big change happening in House.
And for the most part I like the new characters. I prefer Kal Penn's character, and I like most roles Peter Jacobson has, especially after recognizing him in The Lost Room.
