House M.D.

No one is talking about possibly my favorite television show right now. Last week's show was awesome, and i can't wait for his suspension this week. Am I the only hooked?

Jove 12-04-2006 08:30 AM

I enjoy the show and I really dislike Detective Tritter just because he has a similar personality to House and doesn't realize it. Do you think House will go to rehab?

Sorcha 12-04-2006 09:10 AM

Oh I'm hooked. lol. And Tritter's vindictive, but I think from his perspective he's doing the right thing. I got the feeling it may have started as a vendetta, but it's not just that anymore.

Loved that line that Wilson said about 30 pieces of silver.

Lasereth 12-04-2006 10:31 AM

Anyone else notice the similarities between the last season of The Shield and this season's House?

Last season of The Shield had a cop introduced whose only purpose was to find out the Strike Team's dirty secrets and bust them despite their hard work. It eventually split apart the Strike Team and ended up with the cop-buster ruining their careers.

This season of House has a cop introduced whose only purpose is to find out House's secret addiction and bust him despite his hard work. It is splitting apart the House group.

ShaniFaye 12-08-2006 05:13 AM

I've been addicted to House since it first came on. I'd like to see a crossover show where he and Dr. Brennan (from Bones) have to work together hehehe

Im loving this stuff this season, but then Im as big a David Morse fan as I am a Hugh Laurie fan

guthmund 12-08-2006 10:38 AM

I like the conflict; I just think they should've found another way to split House off away from everyone else.

I mean, in the real world it seems like Detective whateverthehellhisnameis wouldn't be able to push things as far, but what do I know?

I like the show, I like Laurie and I like Morse, but it's getting a little old.

Willravel 12-08-2006 11:39 AM

I liked the first two seasons, but it's really redundant - even with the dick cop. I've always liked Hugh Laurie. Blackadder the third was hilareous.

snowy 12-08-2006 11:53 AM

They showed "Three Stories" again this last week, and I couldn't help but think that getting House out of his element like that once in a while would make the show a little more interesting over the long term, and exploring some of his history, as well as that of the others (in more ways than just little blurbs of information) would also be more interesting.

And I really hate this storyline with Tritter. I understand that he is supposed to be House's Moriarty, but he just annoys me, and the way he goes about things just seems this side of legal.

Agreed. Tritter is not but a bully, hardly a worthy adversary. If there were to be an arch enemy to House, it would be House himself. His internal battles and coming to terms with himself are a lot more entertaining than Tritter could ever be. If Tritter were smarter, then maybe, but he just strikes me as a typical police officer that uses his power on vendettas. Mundane.

hambone 12-08-2006 12:10 PM

Redundant? yeah. But fantastically so. This is my favorite show on TV no doubt.

I do hate Tritter though.

m0rpheus 12-10-2006 10:26 PM

My big problems with the whole cop going after House storyline is that if I wanted to watch a cop show I'd watch any of the many cop/cop related shows on TV.

FailedEagle 12-12-2006 08:10 PM

Hmm, Tritter I was on the fence about, but after the end, I have come to the conclusion that he is just a complete asshole. I mean, House admited to the problem, which I didn't think would happen, and Tritter denied him after giving him a deadline that he met. All in all I liked the episode though.

m0rpheus 12-13-2006 12:52 PM

My other problem with the whole Tritter storyline is that the name of the show is HOUSE M.D. so gee do you think House is gonna get locked away for his actions? Bah I say. Stop turning House into a cop/legal drama.

Willravel 12-13-2006 01:28 PM

mOrpheus...EXACTLY!! There is a reason I don't watch Law and Order, CSI, NCIS, etc....they are madly boring. At least with House you get the illusion of something being medically relevant. You don't have to worry about legal jargon, just medical jargon.

viper11885 12-13-2006 06:50 PM

House is one of my favorite tv shows on right now.

I agree with many on Tritter. Kind of throws the whole show off topic but it is interesting seeing House go against someone with a similar personality/attitude as himself. Can't wait to see how this all plays out in the end...

Elphaba 12-13-2006 09:49 PM

I think Tritter as a character only serves to focus on House's addiction which has been a plot device since day one. House further deteriorates, both physically and morally, with each episode this year.

I wonder if the "thought police" couldn't abide the "brilliant junkie" and what influence that may have on the viewing public. I would prefer to believe that this plot line has been planned from the start.

ShaniFaye 12-14-2006 04:11 AM

I bout fell out of my chair this week when he went to take the deal with tritter, I never in a million years expected he'd do that. Makes me mad we have to wait til Jan 9th for a new episode!!!

soccerchamp76 12-14-2006 10:59 PM

For those who comment on the redundancy, welcome to sitcoms.
Shows like CSI, L&O, House, etc. all follow a structure. At least the Tritter story has helped deviate slightly and allowed for some deeper insight into House's life. With his personality on the show, you would never know anything about him without this story.

Well, that explains why I actually like the Tritter storyline. Although L&O and SVU are pretty much the only ones I watch.

After seeing Tritter seemingly remove the rehab option from the table, I'm hoping that House and/or Wilson will find a way to a yet unseen third option. The "Tritter needs House's medical expertise" idea could work, but I'm more interested in giving the cop a taste of his own medicine - perhaps, since he's much like House in other ways, he has an addiction of his own. Something different, of course, and perhaps something unexpected.

ShaniFaye 12-15-2006 10:12 AM

I've said all along, something will prob happen to Tritter that will require House's "expertise", its predictable though so Im hoping they go another route

If thats the case, Im hoping its gay hookers and meth, a la Ted Haggart.

Wilkerson 12-29-2006 09:27 AM

I only recently (as in the past month) began viewing House. I find the title character to be a laugh a second. I realize he is meant to be shown as an abrasive doctor in all ways; his deadpan delivery of certain lines just gets me guffawing.

Seer666 01-02-2007 05:37 PM

I just got done watching the first season. I picked it up because I was bored. I like House a lot, he's a doctor I could enjoy having. But really, they need to do SOMETHING with that show. I can sum up every episode they've done so far.
"Hey look, I'm sick"
"hey you got this"
"Oh shit it's not that"
"Oh shit, he about to die"
**notice something off the wall**
"Oh look, it's really this"
"hey, I'm cured, thanks doc"
"Fuck off"
*roll credits*

pacaveli 01-08-2007 08:13 PM

the greatness of the show is the fact that house has only one or 2 things in his life that are worth doing, and to everything else he is just a complete ass about.

love the show, have the first 2 seasons on DVD, third one will be added as soon as it comes out.

Lokus 01-09-2007 12:32 PM

Mmm, I can't wait for tonights episode. I bet that House will get off because of a technicality, some of the stuff Tritter did seems a bit beyond the power of a mere policeman.

I enjoy the show, to a certain extent. However, I've seen 4 or 5 episodes, and they all follow this same retoric. Here is a slightly more accurate summation:

"Hey look, I'm sick"
"hey you got this"
"Oh shit it's not that"
"Oh shit, he about to die"
**notice something off the wall**
**House berates the employees and damages their willpower to teach them a lesson**
"Oh look, it's really this"
"hey, I'm cured, thanks doc"
"Fuck off"
*roll credits*

It's basically Matlock. Every single episode is the same, with new characters.

ShaniFaye 01-10-2007 03:57 AM

It was so great to have a new episode!!

I have to admit I thought the ending scene in the courtroom was kinda lame as far as Tritter's response....Im hoping thats not the end of him.

I LOVED finding out that he hadn't really given in and that he was still taking the Vic's....if they do it right something major should come out of it.

I was very surprised to see Cutty lie for him though

Lucifer 01-10-2007 04:06 AM

I was rather disappointed to find that he was still taking the vicodin.

gduventree 01-10-2007 04:48 PM

Still, he did apologize to Wilson. That counts for something.

ShaniFaye 01-10-2007 06:02 PM

If he HAD been off the vic's it would have been too "un house" for me to be able to take it

FoolThemAll 01-11-2007 06:46 PM

I liked Tritter's going-out line. It kinda redeemed his character and gave the implication that House's "you son of a bitch" rant was off the mark. (And I had been nodding along with that rant.)

mrklixx 01-11-2007 09:40 PM

I'm so glad that there is not another new episode for 3 weeks, I really hate having back to back new episodes after a long hiatus .

Willravel 01-11-2007 09:43 PM

I remember waiting for Futurama.....*tear*

See I was just the opposite. I was so happy to see that he was still on the vicodin. Hopefully we can now leave the cop storyline to cop shows.

House

Man, this show rocks! I love the sick humor of House. I just saw the past two episodes, but im hooked. Very interesting relationship between him and the female boss.

Anyone else watch this show?

mrklixx 02-15-2007 01:15 PM

Another three week layoff. I guess they have to space them so far apart so that House will have time to hobble around to catch the next episode.

ShaniFaye 02-15-2007 01:19 PM

or to schedule around American Idol

American Idol only lasts three weeks this year?

ShaniFaye 02-15-2007 02:09 PM

no, but if I remember right its three shows a week for the next 3 weeks until they are from the top 24 to the top 12

Lokus 02-17-2007 01:07 AM

I really liked this last episode even if some of the medicine was iffy. House with Cuddy and the curiosity conversation with Wilson were just hilarious not to mention how awesomely gross the ending was.
