block party flyer *critique me*

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/m0us33/humhum/bp_flyer.jpg">

looks kinda dull to me. maybe too cluttered?
the small type on the side is like 90 degrees cuz people will have it in their hands & can turn it. i was trying not to clutter it too much, but i don't know...

this may have to do. need to copy & pass them out soon so that people can plan ahead...

oh & the white borders at the sides & bottom are exactly as my home printer prints things, so yeah, hafta work with that cuz this will just be xeroxed.

thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Very excellent. The only thing I have a problem with is the text running up the right side. It's just so small and condensed that you have to crane your neck and get up close to read it.

If possible I would move it down below the phone numbers.

thanks choskins & Fremen

yakimushi, your point is very valid if this was intended to be read strictly online. it's not actually meant to be read online at all.

this will be xeroxed & held by hands to be read, so the piece of paper can be turned. the small text is not severely important, just additional trivial information, suggesting fun attire to wear mostly.

if this flyer was meant to be viewed online w/less height & length constrants, then i would definitely take to heart exactly what you're saying.
as it is, it will be xeroxed on a normal A4 sheet of paper. people will hold this in their hands. they can turn the paper to read the fine print. maybe i'm assuming too much?

Absolutley not! It didn't even cross my mind that they would be handed out. I was thinking they'd be hung somewhere. I think I was the one assuming too much.

Very nice. I just hope y ou have a good xerox. The texture at the top could look a bit messy otherwise.

Unless there is a 'flyer contest' each year with a huge cash prize, i wouldn't get caught up in minor details. I think it looks great.

i really like the fonts you used in it.
looks like a good time...
(in the side text, third line, you have 'style' spelled as 'stylee', didn't know if you were just using a funny word or not )

bah! power clown found the typo first. i was hoping to be the nit-picky-est. the small type on the side doesn't bother me so much, but if you really want folks to pick up on the western theme, ya gotta make it big. "wear yer western git ups" or something. that's my two cents, and that's about all it's worth.

well, if it xeroxes like crap, i have a back up plan. i'll just burn the illustrator file in .pdf form (for some reason, kinkos likes that now better than .eps files... *shrug*) & i'll have them print them that way.

and yeah. i spelled it "stylee" on purpose, but i think i'll change it.
to most people, it <i><b>is</b></i> going to look like a typo. heh

good point!
although the peeps in my hood are mostly not much into dressing up anyway, so hrmm :\
we had our first block just a week or two before halloween. told people to dress up. hardly anyone did.
mostly just the kids did & a tiny few of crazy adults.

thanks so much everyone for your input. greatly appreciated!
