sorry, i didn't make that clear ... there's a link in the last post, but tfp's colour scheme doesn't make it too obvious
alternatively, if you can't find the link, it is in there somewhere honestly, try searching Artwork with "raytraced animated logo" ... i'll dig some other bits out later tonight if i can

Hail Citizen!
What type of image are you looking for? If it's a brain in a jar or an alien landscape then I could be the one for you. I'm not sure I'm good for much else. Tell us more of your hopes and desires. I require a second serving of delicious information, please. -GH |

Basically, I'm looking for something fairly small (i would probably eventually want to have it tattooed on the back of my shoulder) that basically encorporates me! i know that sounds hard to accomplish seeing as how none of you know me, but i'll try and give some details. if more are needed, just ask:
I'm very independent....although I'm close to my family, I moved out when I was 18 to live with my boyfriend. very hard decision to make, seeing as how i rarely talk with my parents or my brother anymore (religious reasons behind that too.....i left their church)....so that has made me grow up fast and become quite independent. i don't really know how that be conveyed in a drawing, but if at all possible, i'd love it . as well....i'm very into photography and travel (dunno what you could do with that....lol). i love my boyfriend very much and so if some element of love could be combined too, that would be awesome..... haha, that's all i got for now, i'll have to do some more thinking on it.....

that is soooo cool!
i reckon you're going to have to go for something fairly abstract to fit all that in like a stylized sun with rays coming out of it - representing the new day, the future and possibly the fact that your bf lights up your life or an animal that signifies something to you perhaps? don't the chinese classify the year of your birth by an animal? animals in stories? when maoris do tattoos i think the first tattoo you get represents where you are and where you're from.. plus they got another tattoo after each battle they were in, which is cool. Try a web search on "maori tattoo" - it's ok they use modern instruments these days, not sharpened bones or the celtic kind of symbols are pretty cool too, and definitely symbolize something ... I'm just not quite sure what at the moment! try a web search on "celtic knot" what about stuff like what country you're from, music taste and strongly held opinions?

Well, shit. I was going to try to help but I can't imagine anything better that what GH has already contributed. Still, like fake, nails, I press on...
Things that are very independant, alone, yet close to family, and like to travel include - rocket ships: I'm thinking a stylized art-deco rocket with a heart-shaped porthole cats: Well, cats are pretty cliche, soooo... How about a cat in looking out of the porthole in the rocketship described above. It would make a cool tatoo, but as an avatar, it would suck --too much going on in a small space.

I'm liking what apeman said about a stylized sun with rays coming out of it to represent a new day, or even a celtic knot ( i love those!), but i would love for it (whichever) to be something totally original and not just something i could find on the internet...like maybe for something to be woven within the celtic knot that's not easily detecable but means something when pointed out.....i dunno, make any sense?

original is difficult
web search on celtic knots shows lots of pages that show you how you can design your own, that might help with weaving something into it

hmmm...
how about this? it's better suited for a lower back as opposed to shoulder, but i know how trendy those are... anyways an original design that incorporates 2 beings into one.

How's this for symbolism. Photography and travel combined in the form of an SR-71 and a U-2 (both photo reconnasaince planes) flying toward the future under the sun of a bright new day leaving behind broken hearts (one for each family member). I was going to try to put hands at the ends of the wings and have the planes hold hands, but this is just a rough draft, I'm sure you'll have other suggestions to improve the overall concept.
