New ring design....
I thought i'd share the newest ring design i've been creating by showing you guy's. my usual critic (my fiance, another architecht) is away right now and i always love feedback. I'm also an architectecht by the way (historical restoration), but as Mies Van Der Rhoe (20th century architecht) said,
Quote:
Or loosly translated, An architecht must dabble in everything to truly understand design.

Thank you guys for the response!
It's always nice to hear opions about ones work. to often us designers work in a bubble without feedback.

I think that's actually pretty cool. Perhaps it'd be easier to assess it if there was also a picture of it on a hand.

Really like that! It has a masculine weightiness to it, with the bare metal and angles, but the spiraling motion really softens it up, almost adding a feminine touch.
I'd wear it!

It looks nice but I'd think the little corners and edges would irritate the other fingers next to the one you wear it on. My wedding ring has little edges on it (like a quarter) and my pinky and middle finger took a long time to get used to it.

visually, very cool, but practically I wonder if the sides might be a little irratating to the fingers on either side.

I'm really missing the jewelry work that I did in my highschool crafts class. The more that I doodle here and there at home and in my boring college classes, the more I realize that I really can express my art well in jewelry and ring designs. I'm abroad in London right now and trips to all the museums and seeing ancient jewelry and how it holds its shape and original design so well over many generations really inspires me to make more!
Good work. I think it'd look better if it were polished though..

Very well done man. I am a Jeweler.Seems you like to deal with silver. Good idea to leave a space for sizing But since its basically all symetrical you could finish it off and not have a problem just stretching it. And if you did have to size it putting the design back in would be just as easy as creating the design you made.
Well done man. It looks very industrial. A working gear :> Sprocket. Or whatever you name it :> Have fun with jewelery! Its a blast. |
