Female Shaving
I did a search on female shavings and received a bunch of porn for my search, so I thought I would ask with a thousand appologies if this has already been asked.
My b/f loves it when I shave my genital area. However, I was wondering if anyone has an advice on how to go about doing this. I shave sometimes, but everytime I shave I either get really bad razor burn (I shave with a razor and gel) or I do such a bad job that it's like I never shaved in the first place. Just how do you women get all the hair between your folds, and possibly even your butt crack without worrying about cutting yourself? Any advice would be great!

I do my butt standing in the shower with one leg on the side bending forward at the waist and putting the razor between my legs, running it from back to front and I use a mach 3...never ever cut myself there
I sit in a tub of really warm water for about 10 minutes and soak....Then I sit on the edge of the tub to do the front and use the gillette mens shaving gel and my mach 3....ALWAYS make sure its a brand new blade...

+1 mach 3 recommendation ...
but the blades are too damn expensive for me to change it every time ... but i do change blades frequently enough for me .. the best way to not worry about cutting yourself is to not worry about cutting yourself ... ... i don't really have many 'folds' ... but to get a close shave in certain spots, just stretch out the skin razor burn - 1. you get used to it after a while (your skin gets used to shaving) 2. Aveeno Shave Gel is great for the delicate female bits 3. lotion right after, and then ~ 12 hours after

3 bladed razor- new blade EVERY time- wait about three days between shaves (having short hair really ups the irritation)- HOT shower and gentle exfoliation beforehand- use Coochy Creme !!
Seriously, no matter what shave creme you use, it's made for shaving some not so delicate skin. Coochy creme is WONDERFUL, it's soft, doesn't give me razor burn EVER, and leaves a really close shave! Also, keep in mind sometimes when you're in the shower and your pores are really open you feel like you still have stubble going on, but then when you get out you find you're smooth as a baby's you know what. So take it easy, learn what direction your hair grows down there, and be gentle with yoself!

Coochy is a shaving lotion that is suppose to prevent razor burn. It works very nicely. But now, I just use some shaving lotion and my venus razor. I've never cut anything down there before and I don't necessarily go that slowly.
If I take a bath, I also just sit on the side of the tub and shave that way or in the shower I will just place a leg up on the side of the tub.

so am i the only one who's cut herself attempting to shave? wow dont i feel liek teh klutz lol... i find that after you shave to help soothe the skn and prevent bumps you should take a base cream (health food stores carry them..basic non scented glycerin based cream) and add to 1 oz cream 2 drops tea tree essential oil and 5 drops lavender..its natural and it keeps any bumps/infection from popping up..you can make it stronger or more dilute to suite you

That thread contains the amassed wisdom of the entire TFP community for about 2 years on dos, don'ts, helpful tips, etc. Basically everything you would ever want to know about pubic shaving.

Yeah, I saw that thread, but it seems like it was an all guy answer, that's why I posted on the ladies forum. I needed advice on the intimate woman area that I can't seem to ever get completely shaved. I always miss places and have to do it outside the shower on the couch or something. Of course this makes a bad choice when it comes to dry skin outside the shower.

I like electric razors myself. You should check out the Body Bare Intimate Area Shaver, it's lovely.

I use a Venus Divine razor (I change it often, but not every time) and believe it or not--soap. Specifically Dove soap--it clings better to my skin than shaving cream in my shower but doesn't lather up so much that I can't see what I'm doing. I haven't had any problems with it yet, and I'm saving money. As for what to use after--witch hazel! Witch hazel has antiseptic and anaesthetic properties as well as being anti-inflammatory. It also keeps your pores clear and prevents ingrown hairs. Handy stuff, witch hazel.

Lotion seems to make it even more uncomfortable, like squishy and scratchy. :P
I use baby powder, although my mother, a doctor, told me that I have to be careful because talc has been linked to increased cases of cancer (cervical, I believe)...

When I first started shaving my pubic area, I hated it. I have pretty coarse hair down there I'd say, and so it seems to grow back pretty fast. I much prefer a brazilian wax, but since right now it's not affordable for me, I have been shaving. I use a Venus razor and I never nick myself, I occasionally can get razor burns, but it's very rare. For me the best way is crouching in the bath, to get all those underside bits stretched. Then it's just a bit of patience.

Oh this is easy! I usually shave in the shower with a razor and regular soap, I don't think I've ever cut myself. Don't be afraid, get a good razor, lather yourself with some soap and go for it. And when you're done, use some powder and you shall be okay! hehe. If you need further help, feel free to contact me. :-) I can give you a free demonstration, :-) Kiddin'

Oh man...if my guy shaved...I'd cause him some serious grief. He's one of the few men I've actually LIKED hairy down there because it's all in the right proportions in the right spots. Mm. Nice.

Yes, I just tried it and I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if it just doesn't work.
I used it on my bikini line on stubble that was very short. It had a diffulcult time cutting the stubble and missed cutting a great deal of it. When I ran my hand over the newly cut area it felt rough, not smooth, like shaving. I then got really impatient and resorted to my old razor. I don't really know what to think. |

lather from soap and a new razor usually 3 blades, for those harder places, pulling the skin tight works for me
