Boob Job?
I don't know if this has been talked about or not, but I'm thinking of getting a boob job... I'm on the small side and starting to become out of proportion (A little on the bottom heavy side) so I figure a boob job is the way to go. What do you girls think? Would you ever get one and how big would you go? I'm a meduim A cup and I want to go to a medium C. What is your input?

This has been talked about. There was a poll in General Discussion and a thread about breast enhancement pills and their effectiveness here in the Lounge (try that handy search button on the top right of your screen).
But no, I would NEVER consider breast augmentation. I would NEVER consider a breast reduction, either. As big or as small as my breasts may be, they are mine, they are real, and this is what I was intended to have for whatever reason. Altering my body surgically in anyway is something I would never do. I wont even wear contacts to change my eye color. Love yourself for who you are, not for what bra size you wear. And if it's because of a man, screw him. If a man I'm seeing needs to have different breasts on me, he doesn't need me. But of course, these are my opinions. You do what makes you happy. If breast augmentation will make you happy, you don't need anyone elses approval. All I ask is that it's for you and not for someone else. |

Natural boobies are best, in my opinion, no matter the size..
From what I've seen, getting breast implants is PAINFUL. You will be totally dependent on somebody else for several days after the surgery. All the muscles in your chest will be sore and there is always the chance of rejection. I don't personally think it's worth it. You may lose sensitivity in your nipples, and the implants will need to be replaced every 7-10 years for the rest of your life. That is some money right there. It's a big decision and you should really consider both the positives and negatives for a long time before you make any decisions. My vote goes towards "don't do it."

All women's breasts fluctuate when they lose or gain weight.
It sucks, right? You wish you could just take some fat from your thighs or ass and stick it up in your boobies. Wouldn't that be cool? It's like a trade off.. be fit and trim with smaller boobs, or soft and curvy with bigger boobs. I have the same dilemma as you, so I'm trying to stay somewhere in the middle..

Cheerios, koli70: Can I have what you don't want? Seriously, though. It's not like I'm unhappy with my body, but I do feel like I'm lacking in that dept. There are some days that I'd really pay for another cup size.

i use to think plastic surgery and all that are evil and really for people that had issues beyond their body. Although there are people who do fall in that category, it no longer seems like such a bad thing.
I mean, for someone whose body shape is causing them grief, by all means, make yourself happy. Just know that it shouldnt be the primary concern in your life, as looks are only skin deep, but from your situation, weigh in the risks first [have you ever seen boob jobs gone wrong pics?], save up for a good clinic, and don't get a dramatic change would be the way to go imo.

i LOVED LOVED LOVED it when i was younger & super skinny & a 32AA was almost too big. i just wore band-aids half the time
now i'm older, fatter & these damn things are in the way & hurt once a month & bras are even harder to get a proper fit. so, no. i'd NEVER get an enlargement. but, i do have a friend who had disproportionally large boobs which caused her serious back problems. she had a reduction & is pleased with that.

The best thing for you to do is talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon about what the best option for you is. You can ask opinions here all you want, and we can talk about self-esteem and all the things that come with the size of our breasts, but if you're going to have the surgery it is of vital importance that you know what the possible consequences are, because implants mean putting a foreign object in your body and not everyone can tolerate that. The surgery will be expensive and your health insurance won't cover it (we had enough problems getting my reduction covered, and I needed that for medical reasons!), but cost is just one of many factors you'll have to consider. Talk to a plastic surgeon before you do anything else, and go from there. If your breast size fluctuates a lot, you might not be a good candidate for implants, but I can't be sure.
