Stockings!
I have loved traditional nylon stockings ever since I was a teenager. So much so that I used to collect vintage ones at garage and estate sales. I'm almost certain I was born in the wrong time period, lol. So I thought I would share this website:
http://www.stockingirl.com/ They are a little pricey (not as bad as some others I've seen), but they have a GREAT selection of stockings. Not to mention just looking at their website is a real treat. I love their models. If anyone else has some favorite sites to purchase stockings from maybe you can share, too? I'm always looking for reliable places to shop for them online. The man I'm seeing currently is very much a stocking man. ********************************** Why am I not at all surprised that a man was the first person to respond to this thread. Rock on.... Quote:
*************************************** And suggestions from yet another male TFP member. Am I really the only chick here into stockings? I can't believe it!! Quote:

Damn.....brings back memories.... I remember having to wear garter belts or a girdle to hold up stockings, before pantyhose came out. They were a nonstop ankle sagging hassle.....course I was a 6th grader, sat all day long in a miniskirt, had no hips and weighed less than 100 lbs. When pantyhose came out....ALL the girls wore one style. Cinnamon hose. That was the only color to go with....for the perfect look. Fucking Cinnamon hose ....thank god they finally let girls wear "slacks" to school when I was a freshman.
I prefer fishnet thigh highs for "fun". No runnnnnnnnnns to deal with.

Yay! A woman responded.
I like fishnets, too. I like the way they look. But smooooothness is a factor in my current stocking quest. And actually, even though I don't like their "stockings," Leg Avenue makes a great selection of thigh-highs. I especially like their opaque varieties, they are super soft and actually stay up without being too tight. They make a lot of fishnet items, too...including fishnet bodystockings...crotchless. This site reputedly carries every item Leg Avenue makes... http://www.inlustro.com/sexy-lingerie/ Best thing about Leg Avenue hosiery is their prices...they are very inexpensive.

Heh! It's all about the silky smooth way they feel eh!? Yeah....price is a big deal....stockings don't seem to last too long....."One size fits all" is a joke though....especially on the stockingsuit thingys....
?......I think of stockings as meaning thigh high...or do you mean thigh high no sticky band around the top?

It's easy for a man to appreciate, lol! I have to confess though that I am wearing thigh-highs with a garter for my Sesame Street set tomorrow night, and I'm a little nervous, as my thighs are not my best feature. But the stockings I got are SO CUTE! They're plain, sheer black with a pink Cuban heel and pink seams, ending at the thigh with pink lace, and laced up the back of the top with pink ribbons. They go *perfectly* with my fine black net over pink satin lingerie set!! They cost more than the rest of the lingerie, excepting the garter belt and the rhinestones I've glued all over everything. Don't forget the 4.5" shiny black Mary Janes. Or the fedora and trenchcoat. Oh, I guess I better be careful, M2 is still at work...

I feel the same way about stockings as I do about thongs - it's just as much about how they make you feel as it is about how they make you look or how practical they are. I'm afraid I'm not quite the connoisseur that you girls seem to be, I need to get out there and get some more!

The current fashion trend is opaque tights--much more durable and available in brighter colors than nylons or pantyhose.
I wear hose or nylons to work pretty much every day. For comfort purposes, stay-up thigh highs work well as a substitute for pantyhose, and they're a hell of a lot easier to put on with my bad hand. Grace likes me in a garter belt and nylons, but they're somewhat impractical for everyday wear because there's more of a tendency to sag, particularly at the ankles, especially with skinny legs like mine. They are, however, wonderful for playing dress up, roleplaying, D/s sessions, or for a fancy romantic dinner out together with the anticipation of activity later on. I've been a fan of stockinggirl for some time. Grace never wears hosiery other than socks. Sissy does on occasion, but not routinely. If it enhances her outfit, wonderful, otherwise she goes for convenience. I'm told I'm an anachronism, but I think it helps a bit with the professional look I'm going for.

Opaque tights, brighter colours - I must have missed this because I wasn't aware of this trend. Do you mean like fluorescent green kind of bright? I still can't believe nobody else likes thongs. I hardly wear anything else... though some are more comfortable than others. |

Actually, I'm not sure what nuns wear these days, but in the old days they used to wear black woolen stockings with garters. Actually, I kind of like that look, too. Perversion is fun!

My god Sultana! Those are so cute!!!!
I used to hate stockings when I was younger due to my private Lutheran upbringing..chapel every wednesday and black hose to go with my awful plaid skirt...black and red candycanes we all looked like. Now..I prefer thigh high stockings with the lace uptop. Find them really sexy. Although I was going out to dinner with JS and one got a run..BRAND NEW! I was like grr! I guess the sizes are smaller than marked. So now I'll always buy a size up to ensure that doesn't happen. Got mine at Target for $7.00 Seemed alright to me |

I went to the stockingirl site and ordered somethings- I really like their selection!
I like the idea of stockings, garters.. the whole nine yards under my clothes. I want my underwear to be sexy and sultry, but unfortunately I don't have the kinda job where I can do that! I'm looking forward to being a professor (like Gilda) so I can wear hot undes under hot-for-teacher clothes! Thanks for putting this up and inspiring me

MixedMedia, I'm cursing you right now...in a nice way, but still cursing at you.
My garter belt broke recently and I haven't had the money to replace it yet. But now, here you have given us this awesome site with sales going on. Garter belts for $20. Yay! And the thigh highs. I'm in love with the patterned ones. I'm definitely going to be ordering some of those as a birthday present to me in March. I think I've 'window' shopped through that site 3 times in the past 2 days. Plus, JJ will love it...new exhib ideas and wardrobe if needed. Well, and of course, some of that sexy somethin'-somethin' action.

Haha, great. Now you guys have me wanting to go spend moneys. I'm a fan of thigh high stockings, particularly fishnets. I've only got one set at the moment which is okay because unfortunately I don't get to wear them except on rare occasion in the bedroom.
I'm sad that it's winter and it's cold here so I wear jeans and hiking boots to class every day. Maybe when it gets warmer I will get out my skirts! I picked up my last few things from Frederick's but inlustro.com has some good stuff!
