Rentmydaughter.com WTF?!!? speechless...
www.rentmydaughter.co* .... discuss
This site specializes in renting children. It may be a hoax (probably is), but either way, wow. If it is a joke, there is no real consensus on sites ive checked. If there is a thread on this feel free to delete this one, I couldnt find any with a search.

WTF? I'll have erase my memory twelve times to erase that.
It may well be a hoax, but not a hoax that in anyway serves the public good. There may be some fool who thinks it will teach families to be more involved in the on line ramblings of their children, but this is obviously a site that states that grownups are in control, their daughters are for rent, and anything goes. It probably is a hoax. A very poorly thought out hoax.

Not even going there. Sounds like a sting site.

It sounds bad, but their FAQ describes it as basically a legal way to employ children under 16.
Not necessarally something I would look into with any kids I may have , but if you want a job for your kid, it might be something to find more about.

that is freaky... but i could see it as being serious in some manner....... but if you need to hire your son a prom date or if you need to fake having a daughter to impress someone.... there has to be some issues with them... and i dont think renting your daughter out to strangers is exactly good parenting

I'm kinda concerned with the homepage banner featuring the picture on the right of the teenaged girl torsos. Weird weird weird.
*edit* reading some of those profiles, it seems to me as if they are all writen by the same person. Same style and everything. Last edited by anleja; 10-15-2005 at 02:19 PM.. |

As none of the "get quotes" links go anywhere, I'll have to say big ole' fake. Funny, though.

I first saw this site in the nonsense forum... and while I assumed it was fake, I wondered if I could rent a kid or two as slave labor like my parents did to us when we were kids... The hell with impressing someone at the park by your babysitting skills... I wanted soemone to clean my house cheap...

It's a pretty lame 'joke'. I didn't laugh once--not a single clever thought in the entire site. I can see why people thought it was real--the tongue is hidden so deep in the cheek as to be useless.

I remember a site called sensationzone.com which purported to advertise a co-ed bathouse for anonymous sex. The site was very professionally designed and if it wasn't a hoax, then it was a front for a brothel.
Another clever hoax site I remember had to do with stalking people you wanted a relationship with. Their team of Private Detectives would get to know her or him and pass on info to you so you could meet up later. What was suspicious about the site, besides the outrageous concept itself, was the high price of the service; tens of thousands of dollars.

It's so much easier to keep a clean house when it's just me. Now Hubby and me - that's another story. Maybe I should put him to work more. How to make a hubby work - that's another thread. If this site would make parents stop and think about what their kids are doing then good for it. Otherwise it seems a big waste of time.
