"crazy" people
i was sitting down doing nothing and that got me to thinking. i hate people who claim to be crazy in an attepmt to seem scary or tough.
you are not crazy you idiot, however, you are lacking will power and mental fortitude. way to let your underpowered (and severly confused) brain stray you from acting normal, you "craaazy" asshole. im not impressed. come get some. |

Thatwas a rather random thought.
I tend to notice that teh Gothic Generation have the I am so crazy I am sane Disease. or at least the ones I have run into seem to think so. Granted normality is an opinion and there is no set standard for being normal so therefore I compare myself to other people to determine what crazy and weird are. I know you said nothing about being weird, but I think that crazy people are weird. So therefore, all crazy people are weird, but not all weird people are crazy. The Gothics are an example of this. I think I am way off topic but I guess i just let me finger un away with themselves. Oh well

I completely agree that the truly "crazy" rarely wear it as a badge of honor.
My ex tries to convince me (and himself) that the reason he doesn't fit in or conform to societal/religious/corporate norms is because he's crazy. He's just too damn intelligent and can't figure out why the rest of us don't conform to his ideas. Which actually make so much sense, I wonder if I'm the slightly nutty one, myself. He's a Cult-leader-in-training, I think.

eot, you realise it takes MORE effort to act abnormal than to act normally in general, right?

The worst part is that while I was living at home I didn't realize how truely crazy my family was. It's when I moved out I was amazed at the family I had lived with. Makes me wonder how crazy I might be under the surface that I never saw how messed up things were. Apparently I'm pretty mainstream though or people wouldn't let me watch their kids.

I had a friend who went crazy. He was a cool guy. We hung out, played ball, drank beer.
When he became afflicted with mental illness, it wasn't cool at all. He would have done just about anything to be normal again. "Crazy" isn't cool, sexy or fun to be around. Crazy isn't being a nonconformist and bitching about it. Crazy isn't popping a little Prozak to get you through your final exams. Crazy is desperation, sweat and piss. Crazy is losing your job, your girlfriend, friends and your freedom. Crazy is losing control of your body and mind. Going crazy is terrible.

just some famous quotes I thought you might all enjoy...and yeah...I'm insane too
Insane people are always sure that they are fine. It is only the sane people who are willing to admit that they are crazy. Nora Ephron I'm seventeen and I'm crazy. My uncle says the two always go together. When people ask your age, he said, always say seventeen and insane. Ray Bradbury (1920 - ), Fahrenheit Sometimes the appropriate response to reality is to go insane. Philip K. Dick (1928 - 1982 The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane. Nikola Tesla (1857 - 1943), Modern Mechanics and Inventions. July, 1934 Almost nobody dances sober, unless they happen to be insane. H. P. Lovecraft Insanity -- a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world. R. D. Lang The object in life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (121 AD - 180 AD) |

a few more for ya'
Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line. Oscar Levant (1906 - 1972) I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. Hunter S. Thompson (1939 - 2005) Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955) Insanity is often the logic of an accurate mind overtaxed. Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809 - 1894) Where does the violet tint end and the orange tint begins? Distinctly we see the difference of the colors, but where exactly does the one first blending enter into the other. So with sanity and insanity. Herman Melville (1819 - 1891) |
