Hooray for Texas. Y'all got lucky once more & dodged another big one (ah life on the Gulf)....though I still feel major concerns for my pals next door in Louisianna. My friends in Baton Rogue have taken in 2 families and they are all hanging tight and planning for a return to N.O. someday. These are truly tough times but please, know that "this too will pass".

Our prayers continue to be with each & everyone of you. Now...more than ever give whatever you can to the Red Cross. Right now- money is needed more than anything else.

I have a sister in Livingston, and she made it fine. Wind damage to her roof, above ground pool gone, but for the most part ok. I spent 3 hours today with a chain saw cutting up downed trees on my parents property near Huntsville...but no structural damage to their place or mine. For the most part we dodged the bullet. I just heard on the news (just got cable and internet access back an hour ago) that none of the refineries were damaged at all, which is great news.

Now if I could just find some gas!!
