Thank god it's not just me! The only person I ever confided that feeling to was my ex, who promptly laughed at me like there was no tomorrow and made fun of me for it weekly.
Actually, I first noticed it when I was about 6 and was playing around with my belly button (isn't that what all 6 year olds do?). I poked my finger in and pulled to one side and DAMN it hurt. We're talking like a super thin needle through sensitive tissue kind of hurt. I still get it, it sucks. I'm afraid I'm going to somhow accidently hook my belly button on something going left while I'm going right and end up on the ground holding my crotch and muttering curses. Other than that, I just get that funny feeling in my pants that seems split almost half way between can and can't feel. Now maybe I'm still the freak for the whole shooting pain through the penis thing, but at least somebody else feels the weird inside the penis thing. |

i do, but it isn't pleasant at all. i wonder if there is any connection between innie and outies?
i'm an innie and even the lightest touch in my belly button is very uncomfy for me, almost painful. it's been sensitive like that for as long as i can remember. |

sometimes i get that feeling so much that i can't stand up straight...if i do i feel like am going to rip something that is connected from my groin area to my belly button.
mind you i haven't had that feeling in nearly a year, actually since i started training really hard, so mibee it has gone away as i have got fit...

Just thinking about it gives me that funny feeling. Kind of like when I think about dragging fingernails on a chalkboard (D'oh!).
Incidentally, when I was in Grade 4, my teacher joked that if you unscrewed your belly-button, your ass would fall off...so don't play with it too much!

I've always wondered about this but never thought to ask others about it. It's certainly an interesting sensation that I've known about for quite some time.
Now that we've established that this is a common phenomenon, is there a doctor in the house that can tell us why this is so? |

I am curious as to whether the sensation is affected by how large a person's stomach is?
I know, as a skinny guy, that it is a really strong sensation for me, and I hate it. Unlike some of the other people here, rather than thinking 'i'm not the only one, wow!', heh...I always thought it happened to everyone. |

If I were to make a guess, I'd say it has something to do with the nerves in that particular area being connected to the nerves 'down there'. Simple as that. |

You’re pushing too hard, that’s your colon you’ve been pressing down on!
Honestly, I have no idea. I tried it and didn’t notice a thing. Maybe this was a ploy to see how many people you could get to touch their belly button. If it was such a ploy, I think the numbers will show it is a success! |

My ex always told me I was weird because I felt all turned on when he played with my belly button. Made for fun showers, though. I'm curious, though... most of the females equated the sensation with something pleasurable, while the males seemed to call it weird or painful. Am I right?

Gross, but oddly true sometimes. I have to admit, another thing I thought I only experienced. Not the smelly part..the tingling part.
