Euro-Trash Themed Party, Need Tons Of Ideas Before Aug 30th

Alright, so my friends and I are throwing a large themed party 60sh people are expected to come, maintaining a 40 person mass for most of the night. We have about a 280 dollar budget, needless to say most of that money will go towards cheap booze.

All we really know right now is that we want a bar with a menu. The menu should have lots of drinks but we want to buy deceptively few types of alcohol, a few weird ones is ok. Chasers/ mixers also need to be cheapish, but we can cut costs by raiding our respective fridges. We also know we are making a large amount of sangria with about 4 jugs of carlo rossi red wine.

So heres the expense you can chalk off:
1. keg of cheap beer ~60 dollars
2. 4 jugs of cheap wine~40 dollars
3. fruit ~10 dollars

So heres where you come in: what do we do with the rest of our 170 dollars. Keep in mind we plan to buy the cheapest of handles. We need suggestions in the following categories:

1. general alochol shopping list- (what have you run out of during your parties?) what do people drink when they can order whatever
2. specialty drinks/ shooters with euro club theme- (rememebr try to minimize weird alcohols)
3. decorations, lighting.... ????- how do we transform a large house in NW d.c. into a euro club atmosphere. Here is where we are really hurting for help. We have almost no good ideas except that we need lights dimmed and lots of black. We are resourceful people and may be able to pull off good ideas without having to dip into our limited purse.
4. must haves on the music list
5. any other touches, caveats or wisdom you can impart

I'm not sure how euro-trashy it is - but I'd go for construction paper on the windows to black out the outside light - then use fairy lights/twinkle lights/christmas lights around the room....

Responsible KillJoy Mode
I'm sure you will all be responsible, BUT... you also might want ot consider having a person in charge of keys.. if you have that many people - and drinking you don't want them getting into a car and driving if they shouldn't be....
As you were

Jello Shots! Easy, relatively cheap - and while it's more white trash than euro trash - they are fun...

To help with the theme a little bit, you need fog. But don't go blow your money on a fog machine, go to the local grocery store (publix), bait shop, etc. whatever it is, and get some dry ice. Mix the dry ice with some water in a bowl and you got fog. You might need to do numerous amounts of them to fill the room/whatever with fog.

Do you have a giant system for music? If not, look into renting one.

As far as music goes, go pick up Metropolis 2004 at your local Hot Topic for about 5 bucks. Pretty Euro-Trashy.

Oh and I almost forgot, you need some badass snowboard/skier goggles.

PM for more music ideas...

For a bit of "german" ambience, check out the music of IFA Wartburg, Dschingis Kahn, Nina Hagen.
Eurovision Song Contest is always entertaining, look at the 2005 videos here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediaselector/c...bram=1&bbram=1 (The Greek and Macedonian songs are both big hits this summer, the Ukranian was the theme song of the orange revolution. The Croatian was my favourite. )
It's probably hard to find any ESC CD's in Americaland though.

If it's possible, may I suggest setting up both a dance floor with Eurodisco and Ibiza Club Hits vol. 8 playing, with platforms for go go dancers and smoke and flashing strobe lights and all that stuff and a soft lounge with the wine bar, sofas to relax in, with Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich and soft jazz. (Or really strange electronica) Candles in wine bottles and artsy posters on the wall.

Oh, and.... GLOWSTICKS! YAY!

Jungle Juice is a lifesaver for me, in situations like this:
1 bottle everclear ($18)
3 bottles fruit juice (mango passion/strawberry kiwi) are good.. ($6)

Being about to service about 30 people with 190 proof mixed drinks.. PRICELESS. You can throw random fruits in there too, for the added "flava"...

Blood mary's are bad either... celery is cheap, tomato juice is SUPER cheap.. and handles of cheap vodka are $12..

Another music option: Moped. Intentionally cheezy, they pretend to be a German group doing technoish covers, with bad DJ chat over the whole thing. There's a bunch of free downloads, I really like "Livin' On a Prayer".

JUNGLE JUICE, JUNGLE JUICE, JUNGLE JUICE!!! I can't stress this enough--if made properly it is THE best tasting, most sneaky alcoholic beverage known to man.

My personal recipe for my 40-50 person bashes:

1 handle of captain morgan rum
1 handle of 151 grain alcohol
1 handle of bacardi razz / limon
A fourth if you're looking to give it a little kick

Go out to the super market and buy some strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple--cut them up and throw them in along with a bag or two of ice.

The base mix should be coolaid--it's the cheapest and best tasting. Add powder as necessary depending on the amount of water you're putting in and the size of your cooler. This will give you like 40-50 cups if not more of like 10% tastey alcohol and I guarantee the girls will LOVE it. They don't like drinking beer.

wow good ideas here, keep them coming! by the way the music mixes are really coming along, the moped is a great touch, those guys make me want to puncture my ear drums with an icepick...but in a good way.

I also grabbed some gunther "ding dong song", which is HILARIOUS. My friend says he has a lot of nina hagen on his ipod.

I think i may use the dry ice trick for our bar, so the whole thing is covered in a fog. And I do plan to construction paper his many window panes.

please keep the suggestions coming, this stuff has been pure gold so far. By the way I plan on posting some pictures so you all can see your ideas in action

I am confused.

Around Toronto you will meet tons, or should I say tonnes of Euro-Trash, especially on the Danforth, and in Yorkville.

I don't get how your booze list or fairy lights qualify as Eurotrash?

I see Euro Trash all the time. To me, it's an attitude that somehow Europeans are superior to North Americans beause they are European. Your typical Euro Trash thinks that North Americans are some sort of mutt (mungie cake I believe is the term) that he or she can look down their nose at. I have heard it said many times that they are superior because "they know where they come from"

Eurotrash tends to dress very well, but it's all they own. Typically black everything, turtle necks for males, designer dresses for women. Males also tend to have greased hair, and one too many pieces of jewelry and pointy leather shoes. They spend an inordinate amount of time on their appearance.

Eurotrash almost always smokes nonstop because they are European of course. They hold their cigarettes in a stange fashion also. They ignore no smoking bylaws in restaurants.

Eurotrash also tends to wear far too much cologne, to the point of causing nausea to all those around them.

Eurotrash is all about being seen in public, but usually still living with mummy and daddy in Woodbridge. If they work, it's at a dead end job because generally they don't have any education to back them up. Again, thank mummy and daddy for spoiling them all those years.

He doesn't look like Euro Trash to me.

He looks like a mungie cake, sort of a cross between Beck and the guy in your IT department.
