Easter Candy strikes back ...

Well I go grocery shopping yesterday after work, I am doing good, lots of veggies and fruit. I get everything on my list, except toothpaste, so I had to that aisle, make the turn, and there it is!

This very nice lady is there at the end, performing the "peanut-butter cup" dance while loading her cart with chocolate covered goodness, after apparently selling her soul to the candy debil!

I think to myself, I can make it, I am strong! I will just get my toothpaste, and get out of this hellish aisle as fast as I can! I grab my crest and am almost out, reminding myself how much i really don't like candy (well trying anyway) as I think, I can make it, there is only one candy that can stop me! No worry, they don't make them in small form, they aren't a Easter favorite, I can do it!

I am almost there, I can see the paper towel display at the end, I made I ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There they are, staring at me like the debil herself! PHWUUUMMMPPP (the sound of my soul going off with the peanutbutter cup ladies) so I grab a bag of Cadbury Eggs , the bestest candy EVAR! and head towards the register, head hung low in shame.

Well they didnt last long, I have eaten almost all of them already! but they were damn good!

DAMN YOU EASTER BUNNY , DAMN YOU TO HELL !

Some grocery store manager has a cruel sense of humor, putting the toothpaste (and presumably toothbrushes and floss?) on the same aisle with the candy.

Well, if you're gonna buy candy (which is what folks go there for) you might as well buy toothpaste, so they were nice and put it by the candy, so the candy-buyers don't have to walk too far.

Wait until Saturday, when Walgreens reduces Cadbury Creme Eggs to a penny a piece. They're just as fresh, the problem is that after two weeks the roaches find them. Before then, they're bug-free.

Speaking of candy, does anyone know where they sell pop-rocks wholesale? I'm addicted and $.50 per bag is killing me.

I love chocolate covered peanut-butter eggs (the ones that come 6 to a pack), they are about the only reason I look forward to a holiday that I don't celebrate. I spend all of my candy money (I do set aside money for sweets, I'm a junkie) on those sonsabitches. Thinking of them makes me want to raid my fridge for candy... mmmmmmmm.... chooclate....

I think there's a conspiracy going on... There's so much corporate hype about easter, so everyone goes out, buys candy, eats it, and gets fat. Then, just wait, in a few weeks, all the gyms will have their spring membership deal things. See, the candy companies are in cahoots with the gyms, so they all make beaucoup money.... hang on, I think I forgot to balance the glass bottle on my doornob, be right back.

I was in Northampton, MA, USA the other day to pick up a used CD. I'd promised myself I'd not go into the candy store on the corner. JELLY BELLIES! JELLY BELLIES!!!! Jelli.... whew, got out of there.

A ways up the street, I saw a chocolate store. It Hoovered me in! I swear!

It's apparently an ALL CHOCOLATE, ALL THE TIME store, with everything the same price. Just get ANYthing. Rough. Got out after spending only around U$13. And I have not eaten it all yet. It's been three days!

Try resisting buying candy when you've got kids. I don't even have to go in the candy isle. I think they smelled it when we walked in the store yesterday. Could I help not getting something? Noooo There's not only my own personal BIG sweet tooth calling for it but my daughter and her friend.

I just bought some for the kids. Honest! I didn't eat any. Specially not the peanut butter cups. Well at least there are no witnesses left. Alive.

I'm a total chocoholic, but those things are just too sweet for me. What I like are those chocolate bordeaux eggs -- they're like a huge, fudgy truffle. They're sweet, but they don't cross over into that "Oh my god, my insulin can't keep up!" territory.

I went to the grocery store and saw them looking delish and calling me forth. I had a limited amount of money and wasn't sure if I could afford to splurge. I could have picked them up because my bill was lower then expected. Only trouble, they were in the back of the store and I wasn't willing to go the distance.
