Easter Candy strikes back ...

Well I go grocery shopping yesterday after work, I am doing good, lots of veggies and fruit. I get everything on my list, except toothpaste, so I had to that aisle, make the turn, and there it is!

This very nice lady is there at the end, performing the "peanut-butter cup" dance while loading her cart with chocolate covered goodness, after apparently selling her soul to the candy debil!

I think to myself, I can make it, I am strong! I will just get my toothpaste, and get out of this hellish aisle as fast as I can! I grab my crest and am almost out, reminding myself how much i really don't like candy (well trying anyway) as I think, I can make it, there is only one candy that can stop me! No worry, they don't make them in small form, they aren't a Easter favorite, I can do it!

I am almost there, I can see the paper towel display at the end, I made I ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There they are, staring at me like the debil herself! PHWUUUMMMPPP (the sound of my soul going off with the peanutbutter cup ladies) so I grab a bag of Cadbury Eggs , the bestest candy EVAR! and head towards the register, head hung low in shame.

Well they didnt last long, I have eaten almost all of them already! but they were damn good!

DAMN YOU EASTER BUNNY , DAMN YOU TO HELL ! :D

BoCo 04-20-2003 04:22 AM

I can already smell the fat as it grows inside your body.

ratbastid 04-20-2003 04:28 AM

Some grocery store manager has a cruel sense of humor, putting the toothpaste (and presumably toothbrushes and floss?) on the same aisle with the candy.

zizdog69 04-20-2003 04:31 AM

Those are awesome candies!! Every year I can just hear my self getting fatter!!

genka 04-20-2003 04:32 AM

Well, if you're gonna buy candy (which is what folks go there for) you might as well buy toothpaste, so they were nice and put it by the candy, so the candy-buyers don't have to walk too far.

Binder 04-20-2003 05:07 AM

wait until you go to the store tomorrow and the candy is all on sale 50-75% off.

Sometimes you just have to submit.
But everything in moderation.

SexyCat 04-20-2003 08:31 AM

Yummmmmmmmmmmm Cadbury Eggs, I knew there was a reason I liked Easter.

I am doing really good with holidays.. I ate 0 candy for christmas, only a little for V-day, and none yet for easter (and I don't plan on it), but boy.. a Cadburry egg does sound good... must.... not.... go.... to.... walmart....

richeee 04-20-2003 09:19 AM

I don't think anything is going to be more tempting than that close up shot.. I think I'll make due without candy.

No candy + no soda + no fastfood = yay for me!

marcopolo 04-20-2003 02:43 PM

This thread is killing me ! I'm off to Meyers for some more Cadbury Easter Crack ! Cya

snowy 04-20-2003 02:44 PM

Mmm...cadbury creme eggs...making me hungry. I can't wait for tomorrow and all the half-off candy! :D

MSD 04-20-2003 02:57 PM

Wait until Saturday, when Walgreens reduces Cadbury Creme Eggs to a penny a piece. They're just as fresh, the problem is that after two weeks the roaches find them. Before then, they're bug-free.

Speaking of candy, does anyone know where they sell pop-rocks wholesale? I'm addicted and $.50 per bag is killing me.

LordEden 04-20-2003 03:16 PM

I love chocolate covered peanut-butter eggs (the ones that come 6 to a pack), they are about the only reason I look forward to a holiday that I don't celebrate. I spend all of my candy money (I do set aside money for sweets, I'm a junkie) on those sonsabitches. Thinking of them makes me want to raid my fridge for candy... mmmmmmmm.... chooclate....

sbscout 04-20-2003 05:11 PM

as I sit here typing, i'm polishing off an entire bag of Peanut Butter Cup miniatures that the Easter Bunny "forgot" to give to the kids...

mmmm..... chocolate
mmmm..... peanut butter

phoenix1002 04-20-2003 05:45 PM

I think there's a conspiracy going on... There's so much corporate hype about easter, so everyone goes out, buys candy, eats it, and gets fat. Then, just wait, in a few weeks, all the gyms will have their spring membership deal things. See, the candy companies are in cahoots with the gyms, so they all make beaucoup money.... hang on, I think I forgot to balance the glass bottle on my doornob, be right back.

WhoaitsZ 04-20-2003 07:57 PM

cadbury egg.............. YUMM! I use to eat gazillion of em. i'm not into candy much, but like marco said.... the debil made us do it!

oh....... and don't forget the jelly beans...
-currently possessed by sugar demons-

snowy 04-20-2003 07:58 PM

I went into Safeway today and the Easter candy was already on sale...$1.89 for a pack of Easter Hershey kisses or Hershey miniatures...but I was strong and walked away...:(

Fremen 03-16-2004 11:06 PM

marcopolo! Oh marcooooo!

Do you feel the siren call of the Cadbury yet? :D

Easter's just around the corner.
Better start bracing yourself for the onslaught of the candy debil. ;)

spived2 03-17-2004 12:45 AM

Now we need some pictures of gorgeus naked women eating them sexily. Now that would make me want some candy.

denim 03-17-2004 12:41 PM

I was in Northampton, MA, USA the other day to pick up a used CD. I'd promised myself I'd not go into the candy store on the corner. JELLY BELLIES! JELLY BELLIES!!!! Jelli.... whew, got out of there.

A ways up the street, I saw a chocolate store. :( :( :( It Hoovered me in! I swear!

It's apparently an ALL CHOCOLATE, ALL THE TIME store, with everything the same price. Just get ANYthing. Rough. Got out after spending only around U$13. And I have not eaten it all yet. It's been three days!

ladyadmin 03-17-2004 01:12 PM

I gladly give in to the candy debil daily! I can't resist the chocolatey creamy tastiness of a Cadbury Egg or any chocolatey Easter delights.

NoLa 03-17-2004 02:00 PM

Great story!

I can't resist the Reeses Penut Butter cup eggs.... licks lips

troit 03-18-2004 09:27 AM

Hey Fremen -- My guess is that Marco already has eaten two bags this year... If not he will after all of these subliminal suggestive pictures:

raeanna74 03-18-2004 10:42 AM

Try resisting buying candy when you've got kids. I don't even have to go in the candy isle. I think they smelled it when we walked in the store yesterday. Could I help not getting something? Noooo There's not only my own personal BIG sweet tooth calling for it but my daughter and her friend.

I just bought some for the kids. Honest! I didn't eat any. Specially not the peanut butter cups. Well at least there are no witnesses left. Alive.

RoboBlaster 03-18-2004 12:36 PM

Personally, I don't like them very much. Plus, I always feel mega guilty for eating them; it's like my body is pissed off at me.

Bill O'Rights 03-18-2004 01:03 PM

I dunno, I just never cared that much for Cadbury Creme Eggs. Now, those Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs...well, that's a different story. I can't get enough of 'em. Those, and the Reese's Cups Miniatures...mmmmmm.

Bobaphat 03-18-2004 01:11 PM

Its the little cadbury robin eggs that do me in
evil little things

InTeGrA77 03-19-2004 07:05 AM

HOLY SHIT, this thread is making me hungry. I haven't had one yet this year, but that's where I'm headed next.

I dunno if I like the Chocolate or the originals more...hmm, I guess that that means that I'll just have to get both:P!

Charlatan 03-19-2004 09:34 AM

I'm a total chocoholic, but those things are just too sweet for me. What I like are those chocolate bordeaux eggs -- they're like a huge, fudgy truffle. They're sweet, but they don't cross over into that "Oh my god, my insulin can't keep up!" territory.

ladyadmin 03-21-2004 05:35 PM

I went to the grocery store and saw them looking delish and calling me forth. I had a limited amount of money and wasn't sure if I could afford to splurge. I could have picked them up because my bill was lower then expected. Only trouble, they were in the back of the store and I wasn't willing to go the distance.

Bleed Me Dry 03-21-2004 06:05 PM

I am an easter candy freak. My problem is my mom or I even gives it a sideways glance and our asses get fat. hehe

But it's worth ever delectable little chocolatey bite.

qtpye4u84 03-21-2004 07:52 PM

yuck no eggs for me when ever i would get those in my basket when i was younger i would sneak them into my brothers basket i dont like them im not an easter candy fan
